Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

You seem to forget that Woody would never play ND.......

And your dumb ass seems to forget, or refuse to accept, that the reason Woody didn't schedule ND wasn't because he was afraid of them, but rather because of the rift it was cause amongst Catholics in the state. He also sent a lot of top-notch recruits ND's way to keep them from going to Michigan (thus his tongue-in-cheek claim of being ND's best recruiter ever).

Sort of like how you (conveniently) forgot that ND scheduled Nebraska those 2 open weeks in the 90's...

Charlie Weis was supposed to come in and dominate the college level, having been the offensive coordinator of the (at the time) 3 time Superbowl New England Patriots. He came to Notre Dame and they expected immediate success and pure domination on that side of the ball.

Let's look at some offensive statistics from last season for the Notre Dame offense:

Last season Notre Dame was 115th in rushing offense at 75.25 yards per game.

110th in the Nation in passing offense at 167.0 yards per game.

Dead last at 119th in total offense at 242.25 yards per game.

116th (tied with Syracuse and Temple but in terms of rank really should be 118th in the Nation) in scoring offense at 16.42 points per game.

Dead last again in sacks allowed at 58.0 total and 4.83 sacks allowed per game.

Notre Dame was also 119th in the Nation in tackles for loss allowed with an average of 9.42 per game allowed.

111th in the Nation at 31.1% in third down efficiency.

Also 106th in the Nation in time of possession at 28:03 minutes per game.

112th in the Nation in fumbles lost at 16.

113th in the Nation in passing efficiency with a 104.63 rating.

When you look at these statistics, you realize they were far from average, let alone dominant. Many people will tell you that they didn't have the players to be a good offense. I think it's partly that, but also, Weis isn't fooling anyone with his schemes. They have a long way to go. I enjoyed watching Jimmy Clausen struggle.

Wrong yet again, dipshit...it wasn't the '90s, it was '00 and '01, and those dates were never filled:

Sep 30, 2000 (open date, no game played, for both OSU and ND...three weeks after you played Nebraska at home)
Sep 15, 2001 (open date, no game played, for both OSU and ND...week after ND opened at Nebraska)

Bottom line, ND replaced Michigan with Nebraska. Keep trying....

Is that REALLY the bottom line? I thought the bottom line is that the only thing larger than Charlie's ego is his pant size, which in turn is also higher than his IQ. And because of this dreaded Trinity (ego/pantsize/IQ), the Holy Trinity will have to perform yet another miracle for this team to become respectable.

No, you fucking moron...the bottom line is that ND and OSU had mutual open dates, OSU tried to schedule another home/away series with ND, and mighty "our SOS is so fucking tough" ND balked. Then your "unable to read a fucking calendar, orange creme magarita drinkin', I used to wrestle in high school" Charlie Weis blowin' ass tried to say it was because Nebraska filled those dates, and as usual I pummeled your ass.
