I'd like to see someone with Photoshop skills morph that annoying leprechaun into a chicken. The tail feathers and chicken feet are already there.

Hey Kyle - here is the exception to the Beard Rule.

ND board is debating whether Charlie is advising Clausen and Tate to go pro a year early because he's trying to sabotage his replacement and not get shown up by the guy coming in and winning right away.

Sadly, some domers are still sticking up for Charlie the Good Guy, which is just as full of b.s. as Charlie the Genius Coach.

Emu and Tate gone. Lovely, would have been a media love bath for Heisman and Maxwell in the pre-season. Michigan can realistically be 2 and oh at the beginning of the season.
Hey, that'd be quite the accomplishment for them! Starting off the season 2-0 two years in a row would be a first since 2002 and 2003.

i think charlie is a selfish man. i think he is a bitter man. i think he is a great used car salesman. charlie isnt a leader , he's an actor. he was a horrible failure. he, like clausen came to notre dame like a jerk, he treated people horribly because he is an insecure fatso..and now he is leaving with a legacy of total failure and he knows it...

Remained a true "ND Man" and represented the University with class. Throughout all of the vitriol and fat jokes, he built a fine charity, took care of his assistants, and always owned up to his mistakes.

Let me qualify this statement by saying that I was, and still am, in favor of a coaching change. That being said, Charlie was a solid defense away from being a "lifer" at ND. He tried to make the proper adjustments, but ultimately failed and took his lumps for it rather than throwing his coaches and players under the bus.
:hatepc:

Reallly, Domer? It's like they can't, even in his final failure, open their eyes to his larger failure as a man. What the rest of the nation saw from the beginning, they are still willfully oblivious to. Gotta believe that it's almost psychological. To admit that Charlie is a smug, arrogant prick who never missed an opportunity to toot his alleged genius in the good times and throw everyone under the bus in the bad times. To acknowledge that he admitted he should be fired but wouldn't quit, so he could soak his "beloved" alma mater for an 18M buyout that he conned them into during his first year....

...to admit all of that, would be to admit their own inability to see through his bull[censored]. To admit the foolishness of their own worship and 4 1/2 year defense of this smarmy used car salesman. Ultimately, it would mean admitting their own bull[censored] and failure. So, in their eyes, Charlie gets to march off into the sunset as the classiest guy to ever step into a pair of front butt slacks.

What I wouldn't give to be able to link to the ND threads the weeks after CW was hired.
I wasn't around till the Fiesta Bowl with ND/OSU, but I'm guessing you would see a lot of Irish sippin' this:

To be fair, most fans including myself felt anything would have better than Willingham and a decade of mediocrity, yet...back to square one essentially. The only positive I can take away from this whole mess is theres more in the cupboard now than when Ty left, thats not much to hang a hat on though after giving up another 5 years.

I see much commentary to the effect that there is "more in the closet" following a 6W, 6L season under Weis than there was at the outset of a 9W, 3L season under Weis. And my head starts to feel like it is about to explode.
