Great question. Repeated calls over an extended period. All night calls. Multiple people involved (who played the role of the family?). Fake ventilators.

This isn't some Australian radio hosts pranking a nurse. There was a lot of time and effort expended on this.

Why?

The media needs to quit questioning T'eo and start talking to the folks on the other end.

lthough Te'o came to Notre Dame officials about the hoax in late December, he said a group of people connected to the perpetrators of the hoax showed up at the team hotel in the days leading up to the BCS Championship game in Miami. Te'o told Schaap the incident affected his play in the game, which the Irish lost 42-14.

2. I could believe the hoax angle if the perpetrators were from Stanford, where the girlfriend was supposed to be a student.

She was supposedly a Stanford student with an iPad. How stupid can he be to think she existed when they weren't on FaceTime or Skype talking to each other?

The PR group is trying to control the story, and they're being somewhat successful. The national TV coverage that I've seen hasn't asked the tough questions about the holes in the story, or been skeptical enough about Te'o's gullibility, stupidity, and willingness to participate in the story even after he had every reason to believe that it was a hoax.

I certainly hope that the nation is taking note of precisely how fucking stupid this guy is. Every time he opens his mouth, he makes Forrest Fucking Gump sound like Charlie Rose. And I hope they compare this guy's on-the-shirtsleeves stupidity with the myth that every football player at No Dame is some 1350 SAT scorer in a real university major.

......but that's probably a little too much to ask for much less expecting the sporting press to probe into this little inconsistency.

Oh he has been watching what folks say... he said that every time he tried to video chat the picture was blocked.... errr yea, I'd date somebody that would block me seeing them....

Either the stupidest man on earth, or thinks were all stupid... Either way, what a moron.
