See, I think they're "pro-huge sacks of money". Bashing the program with the largest fanbase in the nation turns the dial. Not talking about something that will end up undermining the NCG that they are broadcasting is a smart money move.

Agree 100% with your assessment of their logic.

But was it really a smart money move? Release the story in the week before the game and how many sets of eyes would have tuned in who otherwise couldn't have cared less about the game itself? Ignoring the 'journalism' side, I think whoever decided to sit on this prior to the game really dropped the ball financially.

Train roll on, on down the line,
Won't you please take me far away?
Now I feel the press blow outside my door,
Means I'm leaving my woman behind.
Lennay's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the whim.

And I don't know where I'm going.
I just want to be left alone.
Well, when this train ends I'll try again,
But I'm leaving my woman in my head.

[chorus]
Lennay's gone with the wind.
Lennay's gone with the wind.
Lennay's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the wind.

Train roll on many miles from my home,
See, I'm riding my blues away.
Lennay, you see, she had to be free
But somehow I've got to imagine on.

It's not like he raped his imaginary GF.

And just how the fuck would you know that? For all we know he might of kidnapped his imaginary girlfriend in the first place. This might be why he says they never actually met. Maybe she suffered from Stockholm syndrome. Then this sick fuck tried to kill her by car accident. When that didn't work he gave her Leukemia for laughs. ( I think Manti has probably tortured some imaginary animals in his youth)

This might have been the chance her family was looking for. They faked her death, so he wouldn't be able to harm her again. Sadly it would seem the bonds between captor and captive were so strong that she felt compelled to call him, and let him know she was still alive the first chance she got. She could be in even more danger now. Not only does Manti know that she's out there, but a woman who comes back from the dead can't be something the catholic church takes lightly.

You might think this theory is way off....but I remind you that it was posted in an imaginary thread.

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/20130118_EXCLUSIVE_Woman_tried_new_hoax_in_December_call_to_Teo.html?id=187505701

Manti Te'o has told family and friends that the woman who was the voice of his fictitious girlfriend ?Lennay Kekua? called him in December and said she had to fake her own death months earlier to elude drug dealers, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser has learned.

The woman, who has yet to be identified, tried to re-engage a relationship with Te?o months after she supposedly had died of leukemia in early September, the Notre Dame All-American linebacker has told the people close to him. The account was shared with the Star-Advertiser by a source close to the Te?o family.

According to the account, Te'o asked the woman to transmit a photo to him with a date stamp, which she did, but this did not allay his suspicions and he later told his family and Notre Dame officials about being scammed.

I feel like I'm on drugs from this saga.
