Nebraska’s Avery Moss banned from campus, won’t play for Huskers in 2014

An incident that occurred over a year ago will keep Avery off Nebraska’s campus — and its football team — until at least 2015.

The Omaha World-Herald has confirmed that Moss has been banned from the NU campus until at least Dec. 31 of this year. Moss appealed the original ruling — and lost — and has one appeal remaining; if that appeal is denied, he will be facing a four-year ban, effectively ending his time in Lincoln.

In mid-December of 2012, a female employee of an on-campus convenience store accused Moss of twice exposing himself to her in the span of four hours. The alleged victim filed a complaint with the university police department, and subsequently picked Moss out of a photo lineup.

Nebraska o-lineman sentenced to 45 days in jail

Offensive lineman Alex Lewis will serve some time in jail, but the Nebraska player will be allowed to finish out the spring semester before doing so. Lewis has been sentenced to 45 days in jail and will serve two years of probation for a fight last spring in Colorado.

Lewis was involved in a fight that left an Air Force cadet unconscious. Police had also arrested Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb at the same time. Lewis pleaded guilty to a third-degree assault charge in December and had a handful of other charges dropped as part of a plea deal. A district judge decided Lewis may finish out the spring semester at Nebraska before serving his time. Lewis transferred to Nebraska from Colorado last year.

I wonder if I'd be given time to get my affairs in order before serving a sentence.

Theyd haul us off without a wave to our family. Just want to say Lewis just got another unpaid benefit. If we pay our athletes these privliges must end,

I know of 3 different cases where guys were allowed to choose the timing of their jail time. 2 were 3-day DUIs. They were each allowed to choose a Friday-Sunday deal when they could get vacation time from work. The third was a 1- or 2-week thing, where the guy was in a different state. He was allowed to finish the semester, and take the time in the summer. 1 of those 3 was an athlete, but not at a big-time school, or a money-making sport.

There is some speculation in the media and fanbase in Lincoln that Bo Pelini will find a place on his staff for his disgraced brother, Carl, who was fired by Florida Atlantic for accusations of heavy drug use. That sounds exactly like a problem Bo does not need, but blood runs thick. It will be interesting to see if Bo does it, and what kind of fallout there will be. Carl is a defensive coach, and defense hasn't been Nebraska's forte of late.

Carl denies in an upcoming SI article that he used drugs. His refusal to take a drug test when he was accused would seen to indicate otherwise. Also, if he didn't do it, then why hasn't there been a lawsuit filed to correct this injustice?

You can take the boy out of Youngstown, but you can't take the Youngstown out of the boy - evidently.

The only thing that will top that is if Bob Stoops runs out of the tunnel carrying a basket of dicks.
