Nebraska Cornhuskers (corn)

Re: Pelini's defense was again gouged Saturday as UCLA scored the final 38 points en route to handing the Huskers their worst home loss to a non-conference opponent since 1961. UCLA, which trailed 21-10 at halftime, out gained the Huskers 236-57 in the third quarter alone.

It would be interesting to know what Mora said to his team at halftime:

I guess we just can't expect to win ‘em all. (Mora pauses and says quietly). I'm going to tell you something. All of you knew Nick Pasquale. And the last thing he said to me -- "Jim" he said - "sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there with all they got and win just one for the gipper Pasquale.....

Pelini is done at Nebraska and that's before the deadspin story or the Tommie Frazier stuff, although the Tommie Frazier thing is damming in and of itself (to me, that's much like Coop downplaying the scUM rivalry). You can't struggle to get to the next level like Nebraska has and then push away legends and get away with it.

I read earlier today that Nebraska might want to wait a year to fire Pelini so they're not looking for a HC the same year as Texas and USC. Then of course there are the concerns about geography, recruiting, isolation, etc.

I say forget all of that - the solution is right there for everyone to see.

Craig Bohl, come on down.

I didn't realize that he's a UNL alum before starting to think that. It's a perfect fit. He can clearly coach, he'll be accustomed to recruiting in that part of the country and he'll probably crawl on his hands and knees to come to Lincoln.

I don't understand what the big deal was. He said it took everything in his power NOT to say that to his students. And that was because they left the game. I feel the same way when people leave OSU games. I hate seeing people leave drastically early (incliment weather aside - and no cold isn't iclement weather) especially when students were only guaranteed one ticket a season, which I know is no longer the case, but that's the way it used to be
