Nebraska -3.5 at Penn St (ov/un 43.5) Sat Noon ET, ESPN (maybe)

So Urban Meyer's not on the broadcast of this weekend's Penn State-Nebraska game with Spielman in State College (due to personal matters)?

That's at least two weeks in a row that he hasn't worked a game. Are there issues with the broadcast team with Spielman and Pasch (because he was on the GameDay set last week)?

I could certainly see how it would be difficult to put on a uniform to represent a school that had been covering up for a child rapist over the past 15 years.

The few quotes that have come from players suggest no such feelings. We'll see if any refuse to dress tomorrow, but I highly doubt it.

Furthermore, we are seriously discussing whether or not PSU should even play another game in 2011.

Who are "we"? A handful of Buckeye fans/alums? I have seen no serious consideration being given to this idea by people who actually count, as in PSU, the Big Ten, ESPN, ABC, BTN, etc..

Why should these players have to suffer the consequences for the criminal and morally repugnant actions of the university, since their eligibility to play has never been in question?

What consequences have they suffered? Bad publicity for their school? Their coach getting fired? Again, these are not unique outcomes.

It is likely the players at Ohio State, most of whom had nothing to do with the improprieties, will suffer more in terms of scholarships, bowl games, etc., than any of the players at Penn State. And yet, they won't get a free transfer, either.

Interesting question. Urban and Spielman definitely go at it at times, but that's not unusual in a 3 man booth. That's part of the show. I wonder if Urban didn't like that part of the show?

Doesn't matter to me. I like Spielman doing the commentary, with or without Urban.

I think Urban simply didn't want to be a part of the circus, which he would have become since some folks in Penn State see him as the successor to JoePa and their best way out of the deep hole that's still being dug there.

Since it's a Noon start, I don't think it will get too bad at all, if it was a night game, I could see it getting pretty bad.
PSU, I'm sure, will have 10X the security as a normal game.

I sat in Ohio Stadium section 4C on the isle next to the visitors section in 6C for several years; and I can unequivocally state that the Penn State fans were the worst. scUM fans weren't too bad; however, their team seemed to always lose. Surprisingly USC fans were pretty good and not surprisingly Navy fans were by far the best (i.e. classiest).

Last year they made 4C a student section and moved me to 29C.
