Again, how is their situation different than any other team whose coach got fired while they were there? Who were embarrassed for things that took place before they were there?

Are you advocating that kids should always get to transfer if their coach is dismissed? If so, I disagree.

If somehow we could get Moxie to replace Russell Wilson at Wiscy next year, I think I'm in favor of these waivers.

I doubt riots are going to happen tonight. The riots last night weren't that bad. I think the only person hurt was a media member who got hit by a rock. Well overblown by the media. Every media outlet was already there, so ANY acts were recorded on videotape. I heard that there were 2,000 students organized...there are more than ten times that amount of undergrads on campus there. Most students just stayed home.

Penn State games are always dangerous, doesn't matter what game it is. Cancelling or forfeiting this game would be a huge overreaction in my opinion.

I am new to these forums. Now I'd like to make a plead with you guys.

For the games vs. PSU let's not make light (jokes heckleing ect...ect...) of the events that surround that school.

This is the single most shameful act in NCAA history. But, try to let others know that there are victims and they were very young.

I would love to see the Big10 boot them out and bring in Missuri. But, that's another story.

Please be and stay classy at & during the game and pass this on to others.

It's one thing for a coach to turn his head while players are pawning gold pants & things. It's horrific for a coach to turn his head while a pedifile is lose on campus.

Take a guess as to why your rep is red...

I was just talking to my extremely mild mannered dad about this. He was probably more logical than me. But it sucks that Nebraska fans, pretty much the most polite fans in the nation, have to go into Penn State, where the fans weren't great to begin with, and deal with this in their first year. Sorry for all the commas.

I want them out. Just kick them out.

"I am saddened to learn of the recent events at Penn State and we will continue to monitor the developments on their campus. We will hold the alleged victims and all those involved in our thoughts and prayers.

"We have had a number of inquiries from fans regarding the circumstances at Penn State and the conditions they might expect in attending the game. UNL Chief of Police Owen Yardley is in touch with the Penn State police department and we have talked with interim Penn State Athletic Director Mark Sherburne.

We have visited with Penn State security and we understand they are enhancing their security efforts for Saturday's game and are taking extra precautions to ensure that all players, coaches and fans are treated in a respectful way.

We also appreciate that there is a student-led effort at Penn State to respectfully welcome Nebraska fans to Beaver Stadium and into the Big Ten Conference. We know that our fans will reciprocate and display good sportsmanship toward Penn State's fans and players."

- Dr. Tom Osborne, Nebraska Athletic Director

Why wouldn't you?

It's not like there is a state of emergency there or anything.

I really don't think Nebraska fans have anything more to worry about than they would any other PSU game. I'd rather be a Nebraska fan this weekend, then an Ohio State fan going into PSU any other week.

And of course, if anything happens, it will be blown out of proportion, too!

If half as much violence happens as I saw there when I went in 2005 happens, then everybody will cry bloody murder and say the game shouldn't have been played.

This is a big story, and it is disgusting what happened here, but I think some aspects of this thing are getting much too blown out of proportion. Joe Pa was fired, people are upset, life will go on fine for everybody except those involved and the kids. The fans will get over this and be loud and excited to watching PSU football. And they will be drunk and rowdy and obnoxious and sporadically violent, just like they are every big home game.

I think you're right, but common sense says you should be cautious. And of course we'll know more about the situation after tonight and tomorrow. If things calm down, they were simply normal precautionary concerns and we move on. If things keep getting worse, then we start making alternate plans.

You guys are right, of course. Besides....who would be the unlucky sack that would try to swell up on this guy?

I wouldn't be too concerned about issues pregame. It's the post-game mayhem that would worry me.

If I were a Nebraska fan, I'd have a plan to get out of there early if the game is out of hand, and by "out of there" I mean out of the state of Pennsylvania. Plan your retreat to Ohio and spend Saturday night in Columbus. If the Huskers are up by more than three touchdowns at the half, skip the rest of the game.

The team and staff should also be prepared to bolt for the locker room when time expires. Nebraska is likely to absolutely hammer the Nits, and if that happens, fan emotion (in combination with blood alcohol) may boil over.

A Penn State win might not be any less ugly, now that I think about it.
