True. And they're probably not thinking about that. Though what they should be thinking before broadcasting a clip show is everyone watching it and thinking "wow...look how much better this show used to be."TRON 2.0;1657218; said:Not everyone has the Internet.
It's already there for me. I usually watch basketball or some sort of sports on Thursday nights after 'Community' then watch 'The Office' on dvr over the weekend. The only shows I make it a point to watch live now (when I can) are 'House', 'Men of a Certain Age' (which has been surprisingly very good), 'Modern Family' and 'Community'.Abenaki;1657214; said:The Office is just one or two "meh" episodes away from getting bumped to "watch on DVR when I have nothing better to do" status.
In my family, we call it "nasty Christmas"...ah, the good old days.BuckeyeNation27;1657244; said:Watched the Yankee Swap episode today. I miss the funny episodes.

I don't think anybody is doubting that......the complaint is that all clip shows suck.I agree that the show is not what it was.
Just trying to point out that most shows have clip episodes.
The first couple of seasons did a great job of working in the stellar supporting class almost every episode. That hasn't been the case the past couple of seasons. When was the last time we heard a word out of Phyllis? Last time Stanley had more than 20 seconds of screen time? Everybody used to get screen time every episode, now characters disappear for weeks. The little subtleties that made the show so good are gone. They're spending too much time concentrating on extended "storylines" and have dived headlong into sitcom territory. It's roots are as a sort of "mocumentary" and they've gone completely away from that. That was the show I loved.OH10;1657293; said:I'm suprised to see all of the angst towards this season. I thought the episode where Pam and Jim come back from their honeymoon to find out Michael is dating Pam's mother was one of the series' best. Seems it has become chic to trash the show lately even though I think the material is just as good.
For those upset that some of the shows more comical character aren't getting enough tv time, I guess I wonder when Kevin/Creed/Stanley were ever a central portion of the show?
Have we had more than one good prank on Dwight all season? That alone pokes a pretty huge hole in that claim.Seems it has become chic to trash the show lately even though I think the material is just as good.
Central? Rarely, but Stanley & Kevin were very frequent roles in the earlier season, creed a bit less often. How long has it been since any of those three had a meaningful role? I can't remember anything with stanley (besides staying for sandwiches) since the early fall affair which wasn't funny. For those upset that some of the shows more comical character aren't getting enough tv time, I guess I wonder when Kevin/Creed/Stanley were ever a central portion of the show?
