The beginning of this season was back to the old ways.
I agree it was getting there.

Stadiumdorm, go watch episodes like 'The Injury' and tell me it's the same level of material. Cooking his foot, Dwight's concussion.

Or think back to the first season (which wasn't even their best):

"Spontaneous Dentohydroplosion", "hot dog fingers", Killer nano-robot infection.

The following week? The Alliance. Dwight in the box.

After that: Basketball.

After that: Jim convincing Dwight to sport a purse to pick up the red head.

That's one of my favorite moments in the whole series...Kevin cracking up in the background while he and Oscar point at eachother accusingly. Those are the little subtleties that are now gone.

Conflict Resolution is one of my favorites from Season 2. When Michael pulls out all of the complaints Dwight has about Jim and they do clips of those pranks. I almost died laughing when Dwight drilled himself with the phone receiver.

NO episodes compare to seasons 1/2 of the show. No doubt about that.

My favorite prank was when he moved Dwight's desk into the bathroom...then Kevin comes out of the stall, scoots by Dwight who then says "Wash your hands Kevin". That kind of stuff never happens anymore.

Okay, maybe my second favorite...hard to top when Jim came in dressed like Dwight..."Bears, beats, Battlestar Gallactica"...then Dwight's "revenge" at the close...

Jim: "Spot on."
Dwight: "Eh, little comment..."

Season 4 gets better with time, but following 1-3 was a tough act. Following these last few on the other hand :p
I just realized this is Pam & my first night together. I used to play it over in my head and it was quite different. Maybe a nice hotel or a romantic dinner. Wine, but wine that wasn't made out of beets.

Didn't think Dwight would be involved at all.

And I always imagined less manure. I mean some, just... Less.

"He's molesting people via the Internet"

 Yeah Thursday's episode wasn't too bad. I can't stand Cathy bates though. I love that Jim is back at Sales working beside Dwight. First thing he does is put his tie in his coffee. Things could possibly be going back to the way they were with those 2 in the earlier seasons.

I disagree, i think Cathy Bates is priceless. She plays a great bitch of a boss

Well they answered our requests for more erin :bonk:

They build up to a Ryan-Dwight mutiny, and then like most things in recent years, they fail to deliver much of a plan.

It was a perfect set up, Ryan's history and knowledge of d.m. Administration and Dwight's extreme\obscureskillset and pursuits... And they wait until dunder mifflin is gone and their mutiny is combating a Jim who doesn't want the job anyway?

But I'll take all of this suckage if it means Jim is finally back in a position where he can be funny. I'm pretty sure that's the idea of a comedy. Losing your best comedy - Jim pranking dwight - to set up some awkward silence (jims mistakes as a boss, clashing with Michael, Pam, rest) for many years? Seems pretty stupid, but that's just me.

Welcome back immature Jim. We've missed your comedy.

If I want drama or comedians not being funny, I'l watch TNT, particularly men of a certain age.

Acted well? Debatable, but she pulls off the role.
Good character? Maybe.
Funny character? Nope.

Dogs licking Andy's business was the only comedy she brought. When you aren't funny without crotch jokes, then you're really not funny.

I don't know, she said she was friends with Nancy Pelosi as if that was impressive. I thought that was funny?
