it seemed almost heretical when i first admitted that arrested development was my favorite comedy. overtaking seinfeld was a tremendous and previously unfathomable feat.

My wife told me yesterday that Steve Carell might not be back next season, and I was actually glad. Put this show out of it's misery.

The Office's demise would be easier to stomach if I could be confident that Community (great) & Parks (solid) would survive. It felt like they sent the funny writers to Parks and Community (I believe only Parks was from The Office creators).

Seems like they started getting ready for this last night.

I'm sure there are a few other members of the cast that wouldn't mind the show ending, but for 80% of the cast this is it for their career so they need this to keep running as long as they can.

Community is my favorite Thursday sitcom now.

I've essentially written the show off, so this news has little effect on me. I haven't watched in a couple of weeks now, so I don't even know the story lines anymore. I'll eventually try to catch up on dvr, but that just shows how far, how fast the show has fallen. I used to look forward to watching 'The Office'...now I just don't care. They should end the show as soon as possible to avoid delving into 'Drew Carey' and 'Roseanne' depths...once great sitcoms that were plum unwatchable their last couple of seasons...

Thank God for 'Community' and 'Modern Family'.
