Thanks to Netflix I just finished catching up on the 60% of The Office that I hadn't seen between TBS reruns and season 6 over the past year. That is most of the first 3 seasons and around half of 4 and 5. For a noob I don't really see the huge drop off that everyone else is talking about. Every season had it's great episodes and it duds, but as a whole it still seems like the same show to me. I'm looking forward to where they take it this season with Carrell leaving. Continuing the show without Michael Scott would truly be the jump the shark moment for me. At the very least they would need to keep him around as a pop in guest for 5ish episodes a season along with a good replacement.

No thoughts on the premiere? Pam's boobs are wonderful but it looks like Jenna Fischer lost almost too much weight. Up and downs par for the season premiere course. I like that the writers continue to give the supplemental characters a bit of a backstory, let's see what they do with Gabe. Darryl and the always-understated Stanley made this episode for me.

I enjoyed it. Hopefully it keeps up, but in the past couple of seasons, they've followed up a good episode with two or three bad ones it seemed.
