Well, I decided to post this, though it's a bit out of my charecter to do so.... My mom has a week to live according to the Docs. Sure, it may be 2 weeks, but that's the word.

I guess I thought I had more to say...

I guess not. I'll post this anyway...

I remember being at my mom's funeral and a favorite uncle came up afterwards and pulled me aside. "Woody, your dad dies and it hurts, but when your mom dies she takes a piece of you with her. You may not realize that now, but you will for sure on your next birthday."

He was correct.

I wish you and your mom peace.

Well, today is the second anniversary of the death of my mother-in-law, BKB's mom.

Simply put, I am sorry. I am sorry a woman who meant such a great deal to you was taken away prematurely. I am sorry you never got to have another conversation with her. I am sorry she isn't readily available to chat, like she always was, whenever you needed an ear. I am sorry there will be no more hannibal lecter chicken, purple gravy, nor moldy cool whip. I am sorry there will never be another chance to hear from her, how proud she was at what all you accomplished.

Simply put, I am just so sorry!

I lost my dad one month before my wedding, and I miss him every day. My mom will join him soon, and so all I can say is be comforted in the fact that you miss her. Many people do not have that pain, which is only a sign that if you do hurt, then you were loved - and you loved right back.

Which is not a bad thing at all, if you think about it. Remember the good times and live your life as you were taught by your mom. After all, that is the best possible memorial...
