It sounds like the family has alot of say as to where he goes.

That is why I can't understand why he would go to USC with all the talent there.

However I can see Mitch choosing USC this time because it sure is a 180 from Arkansas.

This whole thing dosen't make sense to me.

I would think Nebraska would be an ideal place to go to. Keller would be gone next year, while Mustain would be able to compete for the starting position in 2008, and still have 3 years of eligibility remaining. Callahan also takes in a lot of JuCo prospects.

I am just pleased that John gave Nutt some support yesterday. Anytime Nutt gets in trouble just because he stood up for Dick, I don't really think a John has much of an option but to signal which side his hand is supporting.

This article suggests there are some deeper issues with the Arkansas athletic department as a whole, but I also read this interesting post from a friend on another board about Nutt's alleged extracurricular activities:

Just wait... I heard about this a month ago, but it is leaking out of
Fayetteville today that Houston Nutt is having an affair with a news anchor at Channel 40/29 in NW Arkansas. Her name is Donna Bragg, and some members of the local media are apparently using the Freedom of Information Act to find some improprieties. Those improprieties include: text messages to her number at wee hours of the morning, hotel expenses in the NW Arkansas area that are undocumented uses of public funds, and text messages to the family friend (Teresa Prewitt) the night that she sent an email to Mitch Mustain blasting him for being a prima donna.

Nutt has claimed no knowledge of Prewitt's email, which makes that especially ugly.

I actually was just sent a 48 page PDF from a media friend up in that area, and as I go through it, I find myself being fully disgusted by my state's flagship university. I'm much closer to the University of Central Arkansas anyway, and they just went D-IAA this season (Southland Conference). Maybe I'm about to switch allegiances...

Nutt had it right when he had Dick answering to Wood, I agree. I can't see how any John would approve of ruining the kind of chemistry you have when Dick, Wood and Nutt are all on the same page.

They need to hire the AD from Memphis (R.C. Johnson). It will take a Johnson to straighten all these guys out.

Their athletic department also has to deal with the rejection of a head basketball coach (Altman) that returned to Creighton 1 day after being named to replace Stan Heath.
