Mustain & Arkansas Desperation (Merged)

While it's by no means permanent, Mustain currently makes his home on the Howard Jones practice field.

The kid's home in on the practice field? Nice to see that USC has things under control now. I thought that Booty's father would be paying for most of Mustain's rent at the Medici Apartments (shown below), but I guess they don't do that any more, at least not for scout team QBs. :wink2:

In a bizarre turn of events, Michael Wilbon just used "Leinart" and "timeshare" in the same sentence while I was posting this (Arizona QB rotation).

USC's 4th string QB still manages to get mentioned in the news.

Arkansas supreme court dismisses Mustain e-mail suit

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit accusing the University of Arkansas of mishandling an investigation over e-mails critical of former quarterback Mitch Mustain.

Justices also upheld a contempt order issued against the attorney who filed the suit for engaging in prohibited discovery over the e-mails.

Justices dismissed the appeal filed by John David Terry. His attorney argued before the court last week that a circuit judge should not have dismissed the lawsuit, accusing UA of failing to properly investigate e-mails denouncing the quarterback, who later transferred to Southern Cal.

Justices noted that the appeal was moot because John White, one of the defendants targeted in the suit, has already stepped down as UA chancellor.

An attorney for UA argued last week that the lawsuit was pointless because the three main players in the dispute have all since left the school. White retired, Mustain transferred and coach Houston Nutt left to coach at Ole Miss.

Cont'd ...

Mustain's delusions of grandeur and meddling parents have put him in position to completely waste his opportunity at a football career. Had they stopped whining about Nutt's offense before taking their ball and going to LA - mistakenly assuming he would start there - he could've been starting for Bobby Petrino this season. Instead, he's getting splinters in his ass.

Kinda hard to feel sorry for him...

Living in Arky, I have a different perspective on that. When you hear of all the nonsense spewed at Mustain by friends of the Nutt family and Nutt waiting forever to take care of the situation, you realize that Nutt was throwing his own player to the wolves. Mustain said some immature things in high school that weren't favorable to Nutt, but Nutt carried that on after Mustain got to Arky. Who's the adult here??? If I was a kid in that position, I'd want to get the heck out of there too. And looky...Nutt's OC (Malzahn) left too because Nutt's family couldn't keep their mouth shut and had to bad-mouth him too. Nutt is a fine coach, but he allowed his circle (who are incredibly poor characters in some cases...including his wife) to invade the football team and tear it apart. I don't blame the kid, I blame the head coach for not taking control of the situation. Had it been dealt with better from the top, Mustain would still be at Arky and methinks Nutt would be as well. As it is, Nutt was unwilling to relinquish controls of the offense and was incapable of dealing with very personal personnel issues. So all the "players" in this "game" are no longer at Arky.

Oh well. Just glad I'm not a Razorback fan.
