Mustain & Arkansas Desperation (Merged)

When you get recruits in that fashion, you have to expect this sort of nonsense. Likewise, when you pick a school based on promises of an offensive scheme and playing time, you can't be surprised by this. Screw the whole lot of them. Pathetic.

LITTLE ROCK - Ultimately, the squeeze of an enrollment deadline could open doors for quarterback Mitch Mustain.

When the Springdale freshman asked for his release from the Arkansas football team last week, he had 72 hours to find a school. Wisely, he did not get in a rush.

Before the Friday afternoon deadline for the spring semester, he enrolled in classes at Arkansas and now he has months to look around.

Although major schools did not flock to his doorstep last week, they could come calling later, particularly after the high school athletes sign up on Feb. 7.

At this moment, it's all about the athletes on the line. For instance, both Louisville and Oklahoma issued statements saying they were not interested in Mustain.

Here's Where The Last Scholarship Goes
USC made a splash on signing day but even bigger news could be looming for the Trojans as Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain will visit in the next two weeks with the hope of transferring in the fall.
Mustain, who started eight games for the Razorbacks, would be more than just a finishing touch on recruiting class that was ranked No. 1 by ESPN. Although he said he would leave Arkansas last month, he only recently contacted USC despite his teammate, Damian Williams, transferring here in January.
Coincidentally, USC saved a scholarship just in case Mustain decides to transfer.

If I were Pete Carroll, I wouldn't touch this guy.

The Mustain family is obviously a cancer, and Mustain needs USC way more than USC needs him. USC can get pretty much anybody they want to play there. Mustain deserves to languish in the Sun Belt Conference.

He's not a cancer. Nutt is the cancer. This kid will be a star in the right place.

They guy was a freshman last year, and his family was bitching because Darren McFadden became the focal point of the offense.

I'm no fan of Houton Nutt, but any coach that wants to structure his offense around a freshman QB as opposed to an All American Running Back would have to be insane.
