Most annoying new songs

Screaming, Satan? If you have never listened to the music, dont pass judgement on it. Some of my favorite music is stuff like the doors, pink floyd, zeppelin. Love people that hear an insult about something they like, and try to launch a counter attack with information that they know nothing about :)
I never said all of the music you listen to is satanic and mindless screaming, but you do have one of the worst metal bands in history in your avatar. And I've heard them scream their lungs out about Satan in more than one of their songs.
Now when in God's name did I say that Eminem needs to listen to mindless satanic screaming? I dont care what he listens to, I dont care what you listen to........I specifically stated he needs someone to inform him that he is a white man, and I said that I cant stand rap. Now, sit back, read carefully, and absorb.
He knows that he's white. He grew up around black people, which he why he talks, walks, and dresses like he does.
And no I'm not one of his fans.

Worse metal bands ever in your opinion. They do not scream about satan in their songs. If you think they are so evil and horrible, check out their newest cd, then come tell me what you think. Course again I will say that I definitely understand if somebody doesnt like slipknot, or any other band I enjoy.

Was not tryin to insult you, or anybody else, just stating a thought I have about Eminem. I still come back to the point that, no matter if you like slipknot, or not......they can play instruments, and Corey can really sing when he wants to. No rapper can do either.

If you legitimately like an artist or style of music, I won't ever bash that. The thing that makes me angry is when people become mindless lemmings and sell out to whatever fad is gracing the radio.

There is a stigma around white people getting into rap because it's become popular. That's the price of a style of music becoming main stream and more widely appreciated...you can get lumped in with posers.

The worst thing right now is all of these suburban frat boys thinking they are punk or goth because they listen to freakin' Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, AFI, (Insert sell-out glorified pop band here).

Personally, I appreciate any artist in any type of music if they demonstrate originality, depth and talent. I truly love bands that have a message or passion for what they sing about. When you hear a band like that...you can tell the difference.

If you haven't ever heard yourself in a band...you need to find a new one to listen to.

AFI was a sweet band before they signed with Dreamworks for their last record. I still like their music a lot, even the new stuff. before their newest album not many people had really heard of them.

I guess I can deal with it as long as you aren't shopping at Hot Topic (a rant for another day) .

I think you've actually got a good point. There are a lot of good bands that turned into crap in the name of mainstream fame. Blink 182, Green Day, MxPx are some "punk" style bands that come to mind. Creed is a good example of a rock band that turned into something your sister would listen to. AFI started to turn into a fad around "Sing The Sorrow". Some other bands that I've liked for a long time (Thrice, Underoath, Rise Against, From Autumn To Ashes) are starting to become popular and I'm hoping it doesn't take their edge off in future albums. I can already hear Rise Against going down the tube.

By the way...I found an obscure gem the other day at a music store. The CD only had a few good songs, but one of the songs is an instant hit in my book.

Check out the song "Mouth Like a Magazine" by Showbread.

Annoying: Any rap not by Jay-Z or Outkast. Any pseudo-punk band not named Green Day. Green Day is overexposed, but they don't suck like some of their pseudo-punk bretheren.

Radio stations: I live in Dayton, and everything here sucks balls. WXEG 103.9 used to be good up until about 1998 or so. These days, I'll only listen to CD101, which I have to stream on my computer since I'm out of town.

How do I find new music outside of CD101? I keep up with my favorite bands, and I trust the recommendations of my favorite artists. I figure if somebody out there makes music that I like, then I'll probably also like the music that inspres them.

Very true, but I actually like Alter Bridge.

Those "punk" bands that you named are one of those things that drives me nuts. Now mind you, before I say this, I will admit that I have never, and will never be a fan of punk. The new stuff however, my god does it suck ass. You can take that handfull of bands (good charolotte, new found glory are 2 that come to mind right now). They sound EXACTLY the same. I have actually asked fans of the music if they can tell the different bands apart, and they failed.

Not to get off topic here, but those of you that are metal/rock fans, and have not heard the new Mudvayne cd...........I highly recommend. Is great stuff.

Another band I find personally dissappointing is Audioslave. I know a lot of people do like them but I remember when Chris Cornell was a great Seattle band named Soundgarden and Rage against the machine was good at what they did. I find audioslave's music somewhat depressing and not bringing together the strengths of both previous bands :(
