Most annoying new songs

I actually loved the first audioslave cd, not crazy about the new one. I am a huge soundgarden fan, and a huge RATM fan, except for the vocals.
I can buy that. Definitely compared to most new bands Audioslave is near the top but with how talented Soundgarden and RATM were I think I'd like to see a little bit more out of Audioslave I guess

All "pop" music since the mid-80s sucks...all of it. Heavy metal, grunge, punk, rap, "R&B"...all sucks ass. No talent. No melody. Just fucking disturbed noise. Disagree? Go to a college campus dorm area, and listen to how many kids are listening to '60s and '70s "Classic Rock". My youngest daughter dormed at UH up through last year. Whenever I helped her carry her groceries up to her room after shopping at the commissary, about half the rooms were playing some sort of tunes from the '60s and '70s. Both my kids (26 and 22) now have the local Classic Rock and Oldies channels on their car radio presets...they've grown tired of "today's" music.

More proof of that- look at how many bands in the last year or so have come out sounding like old 80's music- Jet, The Darkness, The Killers, the new Coldplay disc, etc...

The problem is that the record companies want to get in and make a buck while whatever fad is popular is still "hot". To do this, they sign a bunch of bands or singers who all sound alike, because the stupid public will buy it.

I think there has been some good stuff since the mid 80s, but what annoys me is that there is very little new, different music anymore.

Mili- I do agree tha most all pop music including punk, rap, and R&B since the mid 80s sucks but I definitely think there is some good metal and grunge in there. Metallica went pretty strong in metal till the early 90s and I still like Megadeth's new stuff along with their old. Early 90's grunge like Alice in Chains I thought was pretty damn good too.

Sadly in my OSU dorm frosh year people would listen to a lot of newer music and it got pretty annoying. There were a select few however that would listen to the good old stuff.

If you legitimately like an artist or style of music, I won't ever bash that. The thing that makes me angry is when people become mindless lemmings and sell out to whatever fad is gracing the radio.

There is a stigma around white people getting into rap because it's become popular. That's the price of a style of music becoming main stream and more widely appreciated...you can get lumped in with posers.

The worst thing right now is all of these suburban frat boys thinking they are punk or goth because they listen to freakin' Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, AFI, (Insert sell-out glorified pop band here).

Personally, I appreciate any artist in any type of music if they demonstrate originality, depth and talent. I truly love bands that have a message or passion for what they sing about. When you hear a band like that...you can tell the difference.

If you haven't ever heard yourself in a band...you need to find a new one to listen to.
I don't want to call you out because i don't even know if this is what you ment, regardless you sparked a pet peeve of mine so here goes...

I can't stand music nazi's that get upset when their favorite band "makes it" Not all bands start to suck when they become popular. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a band wanting to make money. What is annoying( and consequently what i think you ment) are the countless bands that begin to pander to the demographics that will make them the most money...pre teen/teen girls. Bands such as Smashing Pumpkins, the Chille Peppers, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Radio Head have managed to have commercial sucess and still keep their credibility. Even perinial (sp?) indie bands like Modest Mouse have made the switch. Not all bands are Metallica or Goo Goo Dolls. And there are some bands that are out tallented even if they are poppy, like Maroon 5( I cant stand them but i will give them credit) Just my two cents

Ying Yang Twins - "The Whisper Song"
Agreed, that song is absolutely awful. Shit like that and 50 Cent is why people (incorrectly) think that all rap music is about shooting people, going to clubs or drugs. Give me a good Talib Kweli introspective, Jurassic 5 political discussion or Slick Rick story anyday over that shit.
