That's only somewhat true. They do have their popular songs that they Play a lot of but I think they've been getting better lately with mixing it up a little bit. I starting to dig the old school stuff they've been playing.

Over New Years a lot of us old farts got into a "where has all the good music gone" discussion with the our collected offspring.

Basic thrust of the conversation.

Old Farts: There's no good music anymore

Collected Offspring: Yes there is.

Old Farts -- Then why don't we hear it?

Collected Offspring: They don't play it on the radio.

Which reminded the Old Farts of how things were back in the bad days before the Payola was broken on radio.

Plus ca change, plus ne change pas.

So one of us asked --If there is all this good music, and the existing stations won't play it, why don't you do what our generation did? Start a pirate radio station.

Surely they stated, with Sirius, POD-transmissions and the Internet and other techniques it would be possible.

I think he knows that he's white. Since when do you have to be black to be a rapper? Just because he's white doesn't mean he has to listen to mindless satanic screaming into a microphone, like you do.

I totally agree. Although it is not what it used to be before the motto changed from "99.7 The Blitz" to "New Rock 99.7 The Blitz", I have definitely heard a lot more variety especially with older songs in the mix. Still has more room for improvement though.

Shit, ive heard Led Zep on there all 3 of the last times I have listened.
I hadnt heard Zep on there in years.

What kills me is this:

"This is Blazer on New Rock: 99.7 the Blitz. That was Black Sabbath and Paranoid..."

New Rock---Black Sabbath.... Does not compute.

I listen to 107.1 on occassion but mostly listen to 95.5 Country Legends if I listen to the radio at all. There is something cool about hearing Willie, Waylon and the boys on the radio again.

Screaming, Satan? If you have never listened to the music, dont pass judgement on it. Some of my favorite music is stuff like the doors, pink floyd, zeppelin. Love people that hear an insult about something they like, and try to launch a counter attack with information that they know nothing about :)

Now when in God's name did I say that Eminem needs to listen to mindless satanic screaming? I dont care what he listens to, I dont care what you listen to........I specifically stated he needs someone to inform him that he is a white man, and I said that I cant stand rap. Now, sit back, read carefully, and absorb.

The only radio stations worth listening to anymore are some of the internet stations. You can find pretty much anything you want on those.

And by the way, I'd pay to see some mindless satanic screamer beat the shit out of Eminem and leave him bleeding in the street.

Freakin reminds me of one of those people that would call me a racist because I paint my house white. Welcome to the United States of the Offended. I dont hate rap because alot of the "artists" are black. No, I hate it because it sucks and requires no talent. Dont want this to be taken the wrong way.

I can't stand rap either. I can't stand how most male rapper lyrics tend to revolve around weapons, drugs, breaking the law, and degrading women. I can't stand how most female rappers deserve the image given to them by male rappers by dressing and acting so slutty. Now granted old heavy metal seemed to totally revolve around death, but at least with the lyrics ignored you have some wonderfully proficient guitarists and great melodic progressions. Rap simply has samples from old songs and lacks originality.
