agree. Have heard the mafia is involved in some capacity w/ PRIDE also.

Dana is an asshole, but I find him entertaining. Seems like he is as big of a dickhead off of tv/radio/etc. as he is on it. He did like ripping the owners of PRIDE and their fighters, which I'm sure will change. It will make for some cool fights though.

It is not necessarily true that they go to UFC. I do not know about the whole contract situation, but this could be a big opportunity for K-1.

K-1 is not going to be able to pay what UFC will. There will be some UFC mega-fights set up with big paydays for all, IMO.

The reason I am excited about this is it should set up matches that wouldn't have been seen otherwise, right?

I'm still new to MMA. I only started following within the last six months.

Yes, but for the most part PRIDE paid its fighters more than UFC. UFC pays its superstars more though. UFC cannot afford to pay all of the PRIDE fighters like they do CroCop and Rampage.

I may be way off-base here, but wouldn't they have roughly the same revenue coming in that PRIDE had. Why couldn't they pay? Not saying they will.
