Coach, you eccentric and entertaining bastard you... I have fond memories of your rants and a couple of your upsets. That bomb to Crabtree in 08 when TTU beat Texas is one of those "no effing way" moments where you remember not only what happened on the field, but the friends you were with.

If today is that time where you take the step to that next place, then Godspeed and thanks for what you've given us.

I blame Mississippi medicine. I'm sure they used the best leeches that were available, but I can't help but think The Pirate would still be among us had they choppered him to the medical center at Ohio State or tsun or Northwestern Memorial.
