Mike Leach (HC Mississippi State, a National Treasure, R.I.P.)

Finally, the recent trend of coaching news is troubling. For much of America and the increasing single parent homes, Coaches are the last line of instilling discipline and work ethic in kids. I'm not saying all of these cases involve a coach done wrong, but I am saying there is a noticeable pattern developing at all levels where that line of discipline is about to disappear.

Parents of "perfect" kids are probably running out of plain 'ol schoolteachers to undermine so the coaches are next . . .

If Jim O'Brien can get a chunk of change from Ohio State, you HAVE to figure Leach is going to need wheelbarrows for the coin he's going to get from this one. All that said, I don't know how "beloved" Leach was amongst his players, but if he was at all, I wouldn't want to be James...now or ever.

The coaches were always more than fair to Adam I felt, because he came in the game during certain formations and situations last football season, but because of his work ethic and attitude, many of the players on last years team had a hard time trusting him or relying on him because he was not always practicing and we had seen his laziness during the off-season. Adam was a kid that seemed like he had been given everything he wanted his whole life and acted like if things did not go exactly how he wanted someone was treating him unfairly or someone needed to be blamed for his failures. He was a selfish player on and off the field that was counter-productive for our team and would be for any other team.

Interesting that no one has come out in support of Adam James except his father and the blowhards in Bristol.

Nobody came out of this looking good- Mike Leach looks like a weirdo for confining James to a room during practice, his lawyer seems bumbling & inarticulate, Adam James seems like a crybaby, Craig james seems like a helicopter parent, and Texas Tech looks like they were just looking for an excuse to fire Mike Leach. ESPN looks like they are trying to protect one of their employees.

Copied from the Rivals board, but that pretty much sums it up. Leach gave the Tech admin the out they were looking for.

Which is of course the only reason he came out with it, for whatever reason. His big-poop dad isn't enough because it didn't increase his PT, but he knew he'd have the whole damn network behind him this time...though I will say Lou Holtz last night did as much as he could to stick up for Leach without getting fired at halftime of the Wiscy win.

Way to step up, Graham.

Is ESPN even reporting these numerous callouts by players & sources? The last one was anonymous, but this is pretty hard to sidestep.
