Tuberville and Leach are about 180 degrees apart in coaching philosophy. I kinda wonder if Texas Tech's fanbase will give him the time he needs, which they probably won't.

FWIW he supposedly plans keeping the offensive staff and system in tact and revamp the defense himself (No idea on Ruffin's future).

The Leach-James thing actually reminds me quite a bit of the Gary Barnett-Katie Hnida mess at Colorado. A coach got stuck with a player he didn't want (hard to say if Leach really wanted James or if the powers that be made him offer him a schollie and Barnett inherited Hnida from Neuheisel) and who couldn't help the team, but who he couldn't get rid of, tried to deal with it as best he could and finally got so frustrated that he just lost his cool and made an error in judgment that gave his enemies a chance to hang him.
In both cases, there were also hostile unofficial actors at work (da big booster at TTU, and the politically correct feminist and opportunist wings of Boulder, CO). I know plenty of people here castigated Barnett re: Hnida and are pro-Leach here . . . but I think I know more about the Barnett deal than most people here so I'll claim to be right.

Rumors circulating around message boards (ESPN for one, I highly recommend them because they're easy to follow) is that Leach is going to USF.
I really don't care if it's true or not, I just like the thought of Leach coaching in a stadium with a great big pirate ship!
(* Personally I find it unbelieveable that USF would hire a coach accused of locking a player in a shed after they just fired their coach for hitting a player, but I can dream this rumor is true).
