Mike Dontonio (get off my lawn!!!)

If Dantonio becomes more of a pr ick when it comes to recruiting, I see that as a good thing.

If Hoke is going to settle for mediocrity as it now appears he will, the B1G needs someone else to step up and compete. This past season's edition of Sparty football is a good start, but more talent will be needed in East Lansing for it to continue.

Urban went intovthe SEC and started recruiting like a beast. He challenged them to match him, and they did. Big part of what turned the SEC into a powerhouse. He did the same thing when he came to OSU. Only more vocally. Glad Dantonio is taking on the challenge.

Here are some quotes from the comments concerning a certain uncommitted player. Sparty is off their meds.

You mean like being forced into General Studies at UM?
Face it, the parents want UM but Malik knows he won't reach his goal there. UM "fans" hate MSU more than OSU. The UM-OSU circle jerk is apparent to anyone you talk to.
UM - rape cover up, bad team, bad coaching
OSU - Urban is a low life scum-bag, good team
FSU - academics (lolz), good team, qb rapist that was buried
MSU - no rapists, no cover-ups, good team, good coaching

This sounds good for us, but I'm concerned about the parents' decision-making:
“Urban Meyer was cool he seemed to be a genuine dude. He stands up for his players. Overall the feeling I got, he’s a family man and everyone loves him down there. Personally I think he’s alright. Two days isn’t enough to know anybody, but for the two days I was there, I genuinely feel he was pretty good cat.”
Urban is a terrible person, a liar, and a cheat. I don't know that he molests children, but I wouldn't put it past him. He certainly isn't a family man.

A Buckeye fan to the rescue.

Mark Dantonio says, in Ohio, Michigan State is on top of Big Ten

Michigan State defeated Ohio State for the Big Ten championship at the end of the 2013 season and went on to defeat Pac-12 champion Stanford for a Rose Bowl victory. As if the results on the field did not speak loudly enough, Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio is on tour reiterating the fact to any who will listen, including an audience at a fundraising event Wednesday night in Toledo, Ohio.

“We’re now at the top, and that’s where Ohio State has been,” Dantonio said according to Eleven Warriors. Dantonio was explaining how far Michigan State’s football program has come since he was named the head coach of the program in 2006. “When we [arrived in East Lansing] in 2006, we dreamed big,” Dantonio said earlier. “What we’ve been able to accomplish this past year was a result of that – seven years of sacrifice, commitment, laying our plan out and going through our goals.”

For one Sunday at least, Michigan State is Quarterback U

A smash-mouth defense, a physical, downhill running game and… professional quarterbacks who come through in the clutch? For one Sunday, that third point is a hallmark of Michigan State football as three former Spartans quarterbacked their professional clubs to victory.

Let’s start with the day’s most unlikely hero, Drew Stanton. Michigan State’s signal caller from 2003-06, Stanton hadn’t recorded a statistic since 2010 until earning a pinch-hit start for the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at the New York Giants. For the day, Stanton completed 14-of-29 passes for 167 yards in a 29-14 win.

Moving down the Eastern seaboard, 2009-11 Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins played a familiar role, filling in admirably for an injured Robert Griffin III. After RGIII went down with a dislocated ankle, and Cousins hit the ground running by hitting his first 11 passes. For the day, Cousins and company cruised to a 41-10 triumph over Jacksonville.

Finally, the afternoon concluded with a winning effort by the quarterback sandwiched between Stanton and Cousins on the Spartans’ timeline, Brian Hoyer. Hoyer was great when he had to be, finding Miles Austin for a three-yard touchdown to give his Cleveland Browns a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, and then closed the game by guiding the Browns from their own four yard-line to the visiting New Orleans Saints’ 14 in 3:31 (Hoyer hit 8-of-11 passes for 78 yards on the march), setting up a Billy Cundiff 29-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to give Cleveland a 26-24 win.

When informed of his former pupils’ 3-0 afternoon, rumor has it Mark Dantonio allowed observers a faint glimpse of something resembling a human smile before returning to preparation for Saturday’s tilt with Eastern Michigan.

D'Antonio giving sarcastic advice to Pelini on how to snap the ball? He is REALLY feeling himself after the little success he's had. Someone needs to shut him up for a while. I think he might stop talking on November 8th.

In fairness to Dantonio, it wasn't unsolicited--he was responding to Pelini's whining on the Big Ten coaches' teleconference and saying he was going to speak to the league office about the clapping.

Only in the first of the three plays in those highlights was the QB not looking when the ball was on its way. The only thing those other two plays prove is that the QB can't catch a snap.
To an extent, yes. But the center snapping when you're not expecting it doesn't make it easier. That and from the standpoint of the play as a whole (and not just the center-QB exchange), it completely messes up the play from a timing standpoint and making sure people are in the right place.

Well, it is the D's job to disrupt the play.

The whining coaches do about this trivial shit is getting old. When I hear excuses like this it screams to me "We didn't coach our guys correctly so now I want to blame someone else!!" It is very pedster like if you ask me.
