Michael Jackson dies after cardiac arrest

I think of him in two different ways, the freak that really had turned people away from him, but before that it can not be argued that he was one of the biggest superstars of all times.

He had a huge impact on pop music in general, and had a big effect on many performers. He sold out some of the biggest arenas throughout the world, and for thousnads he was a true icon.

I think also that people in their 30's to 50's are going to be affected and think this is a bigger deal then someone in their twenties or younger. Thriller is the largest selling album of all time, so it can't be denied he had a huge impact at one point. Hell it was big enough that ever since the new broke yesterday mtv has been doing nothing but showing his music videos, so that should tell you something, when was the last time mtv showed a music video :)

With Elvis there was a sense of loss.

This is just one less pervert.

Actually, they are pretty similar losses. Both talents, both useless perverts. My lab dying was worth more tears than Elivs - which assumes that fat piece of white trash was worth a tear. Great pipes tho.

now we get to see who the Elvis fans are. :paranoid:

In the wake of Michael Jackson's passing, McDonald's has announced they will pay tribute to the self-proclaimed "King of Pop" by introducing the Jacko burger, which consists of 50 year-old meat between 10 year-old buns.

Hell, I don't even like the Beatles, but I agree wholeheartedly.

Kurt Cobain ranks up there as does Cliff Burton

Cobain ranks up there only because Courtney Love was never charged with murder.

I think the celebrity death that caught me the most off guard where I was really like that sucks was Phil Hartman
