Michael Jackson dies after cardiac arrest

I get you... and they might be. But if you gave me the choice to be happy with my father dead or miserable with my father alive I'd be miserable every damn day of my life. I'll tell you one thing; they will be better off without the circus that surrounded him. Everyone is judgemental. It's human nature. I'm judgemental towards the actions perpetrated and the lies produced to cover them up. But I'm not God. Judgement, in my mind, is His decision alone. No one here has done so...but I've heard others say "I hope he burns in Hell" and the like. That is the line that I wash my hands of.

Agreed, but I've never been the son of a pedo, so I'm not sure if what I'd think.

Doesn't matter really what we think anyways. He's gone, I think the world is better with one less creepy pedo. :tongue2:

This won't be a popular post, but such is life.

Is everybody 100% sure he was a pedophile? I believe that he made some cash settlements to avoid prosecution, but I don't believe he's ever been convicted. I'm sure that some parents saw an opportunity for cash settlements and took them, without considering the welfare of other kids if Jacko was guilty.

He was so screwed up that the possibility exists that he really was just sleeping with and cuddling kids, which is pretty creepy and perhaps illegal, but not in the same ballpark as somebody having genital contact with kids.

He may well have been a pedophile, and if so, I'm fine with him burning in Hell for eternity; but I think it's possible that he wasn't. And I think only Jacko and the kids that spend time with him really know.

Well, you might be right in theory I suppose, but it isn't just "cash settlements"...it's paying a boy $20 million to stay silent. That's hardly the actions of an innocent man in most eyes, particularly given the stigma associated with pedophiles. So, yes, the old "court of law" I suppose could apply...but of course he tossed his money around to deliberately thwart said court, so I have a hard time giving him any modicum of benefit of the doubt myself.

If Jacko was a pedo, what kind of sick fucking people drop their kids off to spend the night with him? ESPECIALLY after the first round of accusations came out. Seriously...I can't figure out how the parents didn't catch a child endangerment case for letting their kids spend the night with a grown ass man that looked like that. The world would be a better place had those people died too.

Anyone with adult alarms is a pedo. I don't care what his other problems are.

And in the midst of news about Gov. Stanford, the energy bill, what to do about Korea, Iran, the Middle East, the complete collapse of the Big 3 automakers, rising unemployment, health care, non-achieving schools, dwindling tax resources to meet increasing social needs -- Michale Jackson dies and CNN diverts twenty five reporters from the middle east to cover the reaction in Detroit and Los Angeles, goes MJ 24/7. Are we planning on having him lie in state in the rotunda? Is there a need for a second eternal flame in Arlington? Will Elton John's Candle in the Wind run to the top of the charts? Is there an investigation to see if this is somehow connected to Princess Di's early demise?

OK, OK, I never listened to his music, thought he danced about as well as any "good dancer" at my old high school, never mumbled his name in the same breath as Gene Kelly or Fred Astair, never compared his music to -- how about Stevie Wonder for starters -- to me he was one of those totally inexplicable phenomonons -- like the Monkees -- and I don't wish anyone to take The Last Train to Clarksville -- but Jeez, can we put a perspective on this?

I really don't want to be in the position of defending the guy, I'm not a huge fan or an expert on his behavior, but I thought that somebody should point out that he was never convicted. Outside of the court of public opinion, that is.

For him, whether he was guilty or not, paying $20 million is a drop in the bucket in order to avoid a chance at being convicted, so that doesn't prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to me.

But I certainly never would have let my kids go to Neverland. However, I do believe that there are parents that would let their kids go there in order to be in position to make an accusation and get a cash settlement. And that such parents deserve a punishment as severe as actual pedophiles.

Mike, I'm not sure what you mean by 'adult alarms'.

Great perfomer did get a little weird in the 90's. Do some of you honestly believe he molested those kids? Why would a 12 year old wish to hangout with Michael Jackson? They didnt even grown up when his popularity was at it's peak! That doesnt make sense to me, I think the parents were looking for a payday.
