Hey when you are a star you are in the spotlight! Can't handle the heat get out of the frying pan!!
I have friends who are musicians & you just have to deal with it!
You are entitled to your privacy & you can find it.
As for Michael Jackson's dad stern?,I heard he was very mean to them & abusive!
He even seems a little callous in interviews,I do not care for that man at all.

All due respect Ellie...but your local bar playing friends aren't the fuckin' King of Pop by a long shot.

Say what you want, and I'm sure you all will, but millions of motherfuckers went absolutely apeshit for his music.

Now, about his...sordid affairs...sick sonofabitch, no doubt...but what about the fucking twisted parents that offered their young boys' booty holes up for sacrafice to gain some scratch? Those parents, along with blanket's dad, are all people that this world would be better off without.

All due respect back,I am not speaking of local bar playing friends! I'm talking someone who sells out 2 shows at the Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.
I am in no way a fan of Michael Jackson's or any of his siblings or family.
But all stars big or small are entitled to their privacy & know how to obtain it! most go out & act like they don't & therefore draw public attention.
There are a few that never get the privacy they want & deserve just because there are paparazzi just lurking around every corner waiting for the big break.:)

Michael sold out whole countries. Still not the same. In the mid to late eighties, there wasn't a country on earth he could disappear into.

I get that! I am just saying big or small being in the public eye is a tough thing to deal with! I have been around my friend in these certain situations & it is weird! We were going to Pittsburgh for a show & I was in the car with him & a girl noticed him & almost walked right in front of a car.
So I can't even begin to imagine the magnitude of being so big of a star.
But the little people deal with it too. He sometimes won't go to certain say festivals or events due to his popularity, can't even walk 2 feet without someone seeing him. He loves the people & fans but also likes to do things & be able to do them without alot of being noticed. We went to a festival close by him,his wife & I & we ended up leaving early due to we got about 25 feet in 30 minutes.
So the local stars even have their tough time in the public eye as well is all I am saying.

Uh...Buckeyes [censored]ing rule? All the other stuff is just killing time between games.

But seriously, we're eye to eye on this one. It's like he stopped developing emotionally at an early age, and spent the rest of his life desperately searching for acceptance, love, or whatever, in horribly misguided ways. I wouldn't want to look into his mind for a second. As you said, I hope he is finally at peace, and I especially hope his own children can now move towards some semblance of normalcy.

Yeah, we can definitely go with that :banger:

The one thing I am actually a bit surprised by is the wall-to-wall coverage of this for hours and hours by all of the news networks. I expected some coverage of course, but this is not someone who has retained his iconic status in his old age like Dylan or McCartney or someone who is still on top of the world via nostalgia like the Rolling Stones either. The guy has been a pariah for the better part of 4 years and from the sounds of it he died popping pills and over-rehearsing for one last desperate attempt to revitalize his career one last time. I was being completely truthful in my last post, I believe overall he has that kind of place in entertainment history, but I have to say I'm a bit surprised at this much over-interest in a guy who has been living in the shadows and doing some unseemly things for the better part of a decade.

Everyone is talking about this.

On one hand I get it, but on the other...it's not like we can't still listen to the music, nothing new (read: good) had happened to this guy in years.

RIP and thoughts to his family nonetheless.

Today's Wimbledon coverage said that he had a comeback tour that was scheduled to start in a few weeks in Britain, and that over a million tickets had been sold. Amazing how many people were still willing to shell out cash to watch him perform, considering his issues.

Because of paparazzi, I don't think it got much easier for him to disappear in the last 20 years. I agree that there are much different levels of stardom, and he was in the stratosphere.

I remember when Elvis died at 42 I didn't think of that as being very young, since I was about half that age. Now Jacko dying at 50 seems to be a fairly young man, because I've already passed that mark.
