Miami Heat (3x NBA Champions)

The Heat continue to be a difficult team to figure out--they've won 7 in a row, but last night they needed a 4th quarter comeback to win at home against a team that's 7 games under .500. I still don't think they have the drive to plow through the staunch competition they'll face in the playoffs.

Let alone on a regular basis. Once they have to play a +.500 team game after game after game, they are toast... Out goes chemistry, and back comes the Quitness.

He's brought new meaning to my favorite saying, "When the going gets tough, QUIT."

I read an article that said Lebron is the MVP (can't argue with that), but went on to say he hasn't even hit his postseason form yet...

WHICH IS WHAT EXACTLY?? Quitting and losing.

Yeah exactly, these Heat fans are enjoying LeBron's play right now, but it's the regular season, he always performs well in the regular season. Once the post-season hits, Quitness time.

Dude quit on the Cavs in the playoffs last year, I don't know how you can deny that, but it's not like he's been a bad playoff guy throughout his career. I'd bet my house that every single GM in the league would take him #1 if they were picking a team for a playoff run (assuming you could somehow throw out current loyalties that they've developed).

He was spotty at best. He had great games against the likes of Detroit, Atlanta, and Washington. But when it came down to it, and he was facing the truly great teams, he disappeared. The Spurs series comes to mind, when the Cavs were absolutely embarrassed in 4 straight games. The entire Celtics series as well.

lebron always has a stretch sometime around the all-star game where he's totally dominant. then, post all star game, he goes into his typical doldrums for a month. we'll see how lazy LeIso sits in late Feb when it costs Miami a chance at the #1 seed.

I doubt that. The majority of GMs probably would, but I'd bet there's at least a few GMs that would still take Kobe for a playoff run--he's a proven champion who knows what it takes to win and has that killer drive. LBJ: not so much.

That's where DWade comes in to save his bacon. LeQuit doesn't want to have to go all out in the playoffs; he wants to be a part-time star. The real leader and star of that team (Wade) will step up to fill in those sizeable gaps left open by the Queen.

are you talking Kobe now, or kobe 5 years ago? Can't argue with Kobe in his prime, but his legs are looking heavy these days.

unfortunately, the nba playoffs are the ultimate half court game, which does not favor miami in the least. they will revert to LeIso, and get bounced in the ECF, if they make it that far. when you can't defend the point and get beat up in the paint, it's a recipe for failure.

Wasn't Detroit the #1 seed when Cleveland knocked them out of the playoffs to make the finals?

They may have been, but were they great? That was towards the end of the "dynasty" Detroit had with Prince, Rip, Billups, Sheed, and Ben Wallace.

The point is, trade Lebacle for anyone else in the league and the Cavs weren't even playin those great teams late in the playoffs, let alone beating them. The game don't work that way, no one in the history of the league beat the great teams with scrubs similar to what Ledumbass had.

Yes, but that was their last really good year and they were clearly on the decline at that point. They were far from a "great" team.
