I grew up with Metallica, Megadeth, Halen, etc.

I dont know why you cant understand slipknot, I can understand them just fine. Listen to Vendetta off the new one, and it sounds like old Metallica, which makes it awesome.

I listened to the clip on iTunes and its the same old story from them.
I just cannot stand that stupid growl thing he does instead of singing.
Replace him with a good singer and I think I would be a fan

Once the Thrash scene got alittle wild and off the hook with bands that did the growl type singing, I lost interest.

Don't get me wrong I like some of Slipknot's stuff, but I gues it's the age difference and the style of music we can jam on. We both are Metalheads and I can agree to disagree of what you like and vice versa. I am a true diehard 70's 80's and 90's Metal head. Metallica is God to the Metal world and like I stated before in the previous posts there is my explanation of what happened to Metallica with the not so cool CD's.

I'll buy the CD and stand in line to see Metallica and have a good fucking time no matter.
