What is dead may never die
Well it's time. Kickoff is a little over 24 hours away now, I have tomorrow off work, and Fall Quarter begins in three weeks.
Things I'm excited/interested/nervous/generally looking forward to see at the game tomorrow (no particular order, of course):
1. The DLine. Talked about for a while as the strongest unit on the team, and one of the best in the country. Specifically looking to see how Solomon and the backup rotation works, as well has how those monstrous 6'4" - 6'5" Herd linemen can handle Cam and if his predicted dominance this year will take shape early.
2. The safeties. As of this week's news about Barnett taking over for O.J., it'll be interesting to see how he and Jermale work together out there reading the Herd attack. Also going to look for how O.J. does play when he sees the field.
3. The health of the cornerbacks.
4. TP. I'm not sure what to expect to see from TP tomorrow considering the prep for next week's clash with the U, but what I've probably been most curious to see since camp started is whether or not the hype surrounding his often mentioned advancement since the end of last season is real. With Ingram out with the surgery, Terrelle has suddenly been put atop the all-too-early Heisman race, and it'll be fun (hopefully) to see how he responds. I'll really be looking to see if he maintains his "new" throwing motion when flushed/reacting to pressure or if he reverts back to the shot-put.
5. The battle between Sweat/Sabino
6. The return game (Hall, Berry)
6. The true freshman impact (Big Hank, Philly Brown)
7. The #3 receiver mystery...I'm hoping and hoping TWash can break out, but will Stoneburner fill that role as well? (oh, and what about that position called a Tight End?)
8. The Band
9. The pregame warm-up music
10. The stable of horses, er, running backs. Who gets what carries? Yardage situations? Catches out of the backfield?
11. What the game looks like from 39A.
I know I've basically listed a lot of things everyone else is thinking already, but after months and months of reading, lurking, sweating in the heat, and dreaming of this day, it feels good to finally say: Tomorrow is game time baby.

Let the quest for that crystal trophy begin!
