Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles)

I hope 5-star recruits considering USC were watching the press conference today. That's a heck of a black eye for USC recruiting if recruits think they're going to have to put up with what Sanchez did today should they decide to leave USC early for the NFL.

As long as USC continues to put people in the NFL, I doubt they give a crap.

Carroll is right about that statistics. But that was a bit wierd. I get the impression that Mark KNEW that Carroll was going to speak his mind during the conference though based upon his comments after Carroll spoke.

Apparently, no longer Pete's #1 guy.

I'm still not sure how anyone, including Pete or any USC fans, can say that this kid is making a mistake.

If he works out for the Lions and works out well he could be the number one overall pick in the draft. The Lions are going to take a QB, now the only question is whether or not they will take Stafford or Sanchez.

Am I missing something here? The kid is going to be a first rounder no matter what now that Bradford is coming back, right?

So where is this mistake?

Pete Carroll is a fucking dick for doing that to the kid.

And what, exactly, does Pete Carroll know about coaching and evaluating talent in the NFL? He was a fucking failure in the NFL. He's worried about the fact that now his team won't be playing for a NC next year?? Hey Pete, beat fucking Oregon St. and Stanford and then worry about playing for NCs!!! We know you can win the big game, now win the little game.

What a fucking asshole.

What an unbelievably spoiled rotten brat Carroll sounds like. You have to be kidding me!!!!!! The biggest day in the kid's life and you come out and basically say he's making a bad decision. Nice. Dickhead.

Even if Carroll is right about the statistics (and I don't doubt the stats he seems to be alluding to), I don't see any practical reason for him to be expounding at such length on the topic. I'm sure he and Mark discussed in private previously, so is this some kind of of public service announcement? What value can there be in so openly second-guessing your (now former) star player?

Yeah I like Carroll but he's definately out of line here IMO. I like how he has fun with his players and loves his teams, but when a player is a first round pick you have to go to the NFL.

Man Beanie was basically pushed out the door by Tressel haha and here Carroll is pretty much saying publically that his star player made a horrible decision. He should've kept his mouth shut because IMO he comes across extremely inconsiderate and selfish.

Not a chance in hell, he would have to do amazing and the combine. I think Rey Rey goes before him, the fact is, of the last 4 USC starting QB's he probably ranks third, maybe even fourth, and the only one who's really succeeding was a guy holding a clipboard at USC.

This was a messed up thing for PC to do, I felt that scouts are going to see Pete's comments and have that effect their judgement. Poor thing for the coach to do.
