Mark May (Blew 5 guys at Pitt)

Eh, who gives a [censored] about what pre-game and halftime analysts say as per substance?

I don't have a problem with the particulars of May's analysis, predictions, arguments, or whatever. What I have a problem with is people who are not good public speakers having high-profile jobs as public speakers, and no job group should be vetted like ex-pro athletes.

My HUGE problem with Mark May is that he says, "The bottom line is ..." every fourth sentence. It's terrible. The other one that really annoys me is Steve Young on MNF, who does the same thing, but his phrase is "At the end of the day ..." and he includes it at least as often as May does, "the bottom line is ..."

Good God that [censored] drives me up the wall.

AskOxford says there are 171,476 English language words in current use. Guys like Steve Young and Mark May need to learn 171,470 of the other ones.

At the "end of the day", the "bottom line is"..sorry,couldn't resist.

While we're at it, bottom line, at the end of the day, can we teach Bob Davie that a period is what ends a sentence, not the word "now"? Typical Bob Davie game, going back and forth with the play-by-play person:

"That was a great run by Wells"

BD: "Wow! That was a big block there, come on now!"

"He really hit the hole hard on that one, and busted it for 25 yards"

BD: "And the key was his vision...great vision right there by Wells, come on now!"

"Who hit the key block, Bob?"

BD: "The key block was Alex Boone, you can see that right here now"

"So the Buckeyes set up at the Wisconsin 25 yardline"

BD: "And we should see some points right here by the Buckeyes now."

"Man in motion..."

BD: "Will Tressel open up the playbook to score a TD, or settle for another FG now? You can't win on the road in Wisoconsin with FGs, come on now!"

I guess I have not noticed that from Davie. Might be because I'm too distracted by his inability to pronounce the letter 'L'.

"This is going to be a great footbaw game, now!"

Skip Bayless

I like Skip more, but he's probably a bigger d-bag.

ESPN is the "Who's Who" of douche bags:

In addition to Skip Bayliss and Mark May they have Woody Paige, Jay Mariotti, and Desmond Howard; and the list goes on and on...

ESPN douche bag alumni: At least they dumped two of the biggest douche bags (Michael Irvin and Trev Alberts)....:)

I think it was the Penn State-Illinois game where it bacame readily apparent (I think he did that one) that he pronounces a period as "now". Maybe it was just a one game thing or something, but I really just couldn't believe it...now.

I am willing to give Bob Davie a pass though just by virtue of his ability to feel the flow of the game and predict the next play.

Arguably the best color analysis ever:

By getting rid of Irvin they picked up an even larger douche, Emmit Smith! Nothing in his mind will ever be greater than the big 3 he was a part of and their three superbowl rings!

I don't give a fuck what you watch. But, if you can't handle Mark May, then yeah.... maybe Lifetime and the Food Network are right in your ferry-assed wheel-house.

Smartass game going well for you?

I only watched it once, but nfl network's cfb show was pretty solid, informative, in-depth but without all the scripted nonsense and on-air trolling.

You could also watch recorded games, do some chores, call your mother, or name an entire team various variations of mark may and beat them mercilessly on ncaa 09 (if he sticks in your craw that much).
