Carr is 102-34 in 11 years with five Big Ten championships and one national championship.
Pretty good.

What other team has 5 Big Ten championships in those 11 years?

Michigan has I believe 3 national championships in the last 50 years. One of those is in the last 11. If one national championship in 10 years is only "pretty good," what do they want for "very good?" Has any team won more than one national championship in 10 years? Maybe Florida State did. Who won the Florida-Florida State re-match after the 1996 season?

Since they began voting on Champions (instead of compiling "historical" champions) Michigan has won 2..

1948 - AP
1997 - AP, Football Writers Association of A<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />merica, National Football Foundation

Interesting note from wiki:

Several universities claim more championships than are listed above (e.g. Michigan claims 11 national championships).

I don't think that's right. Wasn't their last NC before '97 around '47?

I'm pretty sure that you're right (and the fact that BKB confirms your facts helps). I must have been having a brain fart. I was thinking of the number of undefeated seasons that Michigan has had. I'm pretty sure that it's three since 1950.

But my point remains the same: In 10 years, he has as many national championships as Ohio State, USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Miami, Tennessee and Texas. Ok - his was a half of a championship. But by that argument, USC would have 1-1/2 championships. So, whatever. The point is that Florida State might be the only team with two national championships in that time. But the more I think of it, they might only have just the one national championship. (Again, I can't remember if Florida or Florida State won their re-match after the 1996 season.) And since he has five Big Ten championships in eleven years, I don't think Buckeye fans should be using that stat to call Lloyd only "pretty good."
