after I sent my resounding voice of approval email to Mich AD...
he responded last night with "a huge thanks for the understanding" .. REALLY
this really is a pretty great idea. it would be best to send emails from web accounts (ie Hotmail) if you live in Ohio, but I think it would be an admirable BP project to send our support to the AD. do you have the link to send him supportive emails?

Is Bo still AD at Michigan? If not, does he have any job with Michigan, other than "Mr. Chief-Guy of All Political Issues Regarding scUM's football team?"

Sometimes that's all you need to be. Imagine if Hayes doesn't poke Charley Baumann in the face mask, imagine if he had retired the year before. How much weight do you think he could have thrown around? Official position or none, he would have had a great deal to say about OSU football.

Nah, Bo isn't the rodent's AD. That joy is in the hands of William C. Martin.

Bo (on umich.edu AKA Bojr) has the following titles

Title:
ASST PROF EMERITUS/A
Administrative Specialist, Athletics

The rule states the receiver must be blocked out of bounds. Grant Mason was in man-to-man coverage. He turned back to the ball. He did not block him out. I mean that's clear. The defender has a right to a position on the field. It's not a penalty. The ball comes back and they lose the down. That's not to say they're not going to hit a field goal or hit the next pass. I am not saying that's why we lost the game. I am just saying that was a big play. That's all I am saying."

Actually guys, I don't really have a problem with what he had to say. I love jumping all over Lllloyd for being a baby as much as the next guy, but I'm not so sure it's warranted here. He clearly states that he's NOT saying this is why they lost the game. He's just saying he didn't think Gonzo got forced out of bounds. Fine. I have no problem with that. His words seem to imply that he doubts his defense could have stopped OSU even if the play was reversed.

If this thread is mainly for making fun of Lllloyd, then fine. However, if we're really trying to take an unbiased look at what he said, then I think he's being fairly level-headed.

Just my two cents.

If he does not want to be perceived as a whiner, he probably should not mention it at all, even with his little disclaimer about it not affecting the outcome. If you criticize officiating after a loss, you are going to sound like a whiner.

Oh, don't get me wrong...without a doubt I consider Carr a whiner. As a matter of a fact, I can't think of someone that beats him in the whining catagory. Maybe my 4 year old daughter....maybe.

But, I think this quote is fine...especially considering the source.

I tend to agree, Yertle.
Still, the impression left is one of a cry baby and shows weakness in a sport that likes strength and courage.

I agree on the recruiting problems for carr and company and I lump that under coaching fuckups. They recruit some serious talent but its not geared toward the play in space spread concepts that are so prevelant in today's game. His players are all still geared for late 80's and 90's style straight up smash mouth power I football imo.

In my opinion, it's the recruiting that's killing him. Every other school, tOSU included, has moved into the 21st century, where speed is the #1 commodity. I know they have some talent/speed on O, but there is substandard speed on D for the last few years. 6-7 years ago, they'd be fine with all of those LB's that can squat 900 pounds, but those 4.8 40 times don't get it done in today's game.
