That seems irresponsible on the part of the AP writer to put it in the article, and for SI.com to post it on their website.

Four people, who are not football players, were treated and released at a hospital in the early morning hours after the melee. A 19-year-old woman told investigators she saw Jefferson kick one of the victims in the face, and police later executed a search warrant of Jefferson's apartment, taking 49 pairs of shoes.
Anybody out there have more than 49 pair of shoes? This guy has more shoes than Imelba Marcos.

The bad news for LSU keeps on coming on the offensive side of the ball.
Senior offensive guard Josh Dworaczyk is expected to miss significant
playing time with a knee injury, The Advertiser of Lafayette, La. reported.
"There has been an evaluation of his injury, and he'll be operated on in the
next 10 days to two weeks or so," coach Les Miles told reporters.
LSU coach Les Miles presumably will be without three offensive starters for
the team's opening game vs. Oregon. Dworaczyk has started in 23 straight
games at left guard for the Tigers and is considered one of the SEC's top
linemen, both on the field and in the classroom.
