On the Bobby Hebert show ("Sports Talk" ) tonight they said that he was advised by the NCAA specifically not to talk to anyone, but notified a fellow team mate about the NCAA investigation and that they wanted to interview that teammate.

Now, that is hearsay, but considering the sources Bobby and Deke have, I'd bet that was right.

Multiple sources told TigerSportsDigest.com that while the investigation began with the Lyles incident,
the conversation had gone in a new direction with Shepard violating NCAA Bylaw 32.1.4.
According to a press release from LSU's Media Relations Department, it was determined that Shepard
discussed an NCAA inquiry with a teammate who was scheduled to meet with an NCAA representative.

The news today was full of a report of how the marine was the aggressor, how the bouncer and owner of the place said the players did not start the fight, and the buzz was all positive.....it is unfortunate, but the news of the warrants was not just bad - but on the heels of the first good news they had seen in days. On the rant a funny guy is leading "Team Sweep" - a group advocating sweeping it under the rug. :lol: He'll be crushed.

I wonder if anyone will start questioning whether Miles should go over this series of events--first the fight and felony charges, then the problems with Shepard.

By the way, had this happened at OSU, Sportscenter's lead story on the day of the issuance of the warrants for arrest wouldn't have been the Browns vs. Eagles preason game. :pissed:

The AP story names the witness. That's helpful. Time for her to get a new phone number.

That seems irresponsible on the part of the AP writer to put it in the article, and for SI.com to post it on their website.

Arrest warrants issued for LSU's Jefferson, Johns

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Police have issued arrest warrants charging LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and a teammate, Joshua Johns, with second-degree battery for a bar fight that injured four people last week, and the players have been suspended indefinitely.

Baton Rouge police Sgt. Don Stone says in a statement Friday that investigators have contacted the players' attorney, Nathan Fisher, and LSU coach Les Miles, and asked the players to turn themselves in.

Jefferson and Johns, a linebacker, face felony charges for their alleged roles in a fight outside Shady's bar in Baton Rouge on Aug. 19.

A police report says a 19-year-old woman named (edit - redacted) said she witnessed several LSU players beating one of the alleged victims and saw Jefferson kick that man in the face.
