Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

I'm from columbus, I was as mad as anyone when he left, but since then...I've moved on.
The Cavs couldnt get any real talent signed even with Lebron and they won too many games to get high draft picks.
Lebron has basically apologized since and realizes how much the trade made him look like an ass..
At the end of the day he's still the most talented player in the world...and he roots for the Buckeyes.
Ugh.

How has he apologized? And what makes you think he realizes he looked like an ass?

I've heard him say him say at least once he wished he could have done things better and a bit more along that line.
Also....I'm pretty sure him getting booed at every single game all of last year sent a pretty good message as to how stupid his 'decision' was.

LeBron had no interest in winning a title for the Cavs and their fans. He wanted to go and play with Diane and Rupaul in South Beach. He [censored]ing QUIT on national TV in the playoffs in order to get the season over with so he could move on. It's funny how in Miami he can all of a sudden turn it on and take a game over while Diane and Rupaul watch him.

Thats just crazy, lebron put the team on his back and took over games countless times in cleveland.
Yes he quit in one game against boston, how does that explain the other 99% of games in which he gave everything he had?
Miami couldnt win a title the first year and probably wont repeat this year, its not easy having the best team in the league no matter who is on the roster.
To say Lebron never wanted to win a title, simply because they lost...is crazy.
If Cleveland can continue putting talent around Irving they have plenty of potential being just as good without Lebron.

Isn't that enough? Isn't the best player in the league quitting on his team in the most important series of the season enough?? He quit because he knew already that he was done in Cleveland and he didn't feel like putting out when it counted. Don't tell me about all the games Cleveland won with him in the line up because those games are essentially meaningless come playoff time. The Giants went 9-7 last year but they turned it on when it counted and won the damn Super Bowl. LeBron won many games for the Cavs, but he quit when it counted the most. Couple that with how he handled the entire process of his departure from Cleveland and my point still stands.

Cleveland fans have had nothing but heartbreak when it comes to sports. This is just another example, but this one was calculated and it was meant to hurt the organization and the fans. I can take Jose Mesa and the Drive and the fumble and Jordan over Ehlo because those were teams that let me down on the field of play. This was a home town kid who said he wanted nothing more than to win a title for the Cavs and then he did everything he could to hurt the team and the fans. He humiliated the team and did nothing to allow them to prepare for his leaving. Just another blow to the Cleveland sports fan, but nobody has the right to tell those fans to get over it.

As more time passes, I find my anger for Lebron slowly becoming less vitriolic. I will never cheer for him, will always root against him, and should he find himself passed out in a South Beach alley with a pineapple stuck up his ass, I will probably laugh. But I hate him less today than I did yesterday and I will hate him less tommorrow. So there's that.

Exactly how I feel. It's a shame he ruined what could have been one of the most amazing stories in all of sports, but it what is what it is at this point.

I believe he, his handlers, and 99% of the world that has a reasonable IQ realize what they ultimately did was a mistake and legacy-changing, but they're obviously at a point of no return and are trying to make the most out of what it is.

Well I guess your not allowed to give a disliked opinion here without being harrassed.

buckeyesin07 - Didnt like my opinion here so now he's going around dinging all my posts giving me bad Rep...Grow up man. I have no interest in being a member here if people cant handle an opposing opinion.

I'm no lebron fan, but what he did was make the best decision for himself in a very self centered and moronic way. If you want to hate the man for the rest of your life for that...have at it.
Ding me all you want now, im out, you can have the forum to yourself.

That is half of what the system is for.. he disagrees with you, appearantly very strongly. He dinged your comment... so what? if thats wrong then is it also wrong with people give you positive rep because you say something they agree with? Just so you know, I am going to ding you now.. not because I disagree with you... I do by the way.. but because you acted like a drama queen about someone dinging you.

Shit, if everyone that's ever been dinged by buckeyesin07 left, he'd be awfully lonely here.

Well I'd pretty much laugh at that regardless

But yeah, I am here too. He will never overcome the douchehattery of the decision, but time eases the hatred, at least to an extent. I don't wish horrible things on the guy, if for no other reason than he is a father (and I assume a good one until I hear otherwise), but I won't root for him or hope anything good happens to him, either. And the media blitz to make him something he isn't is right out of the Boise State ESPN playbook.

You said this:

Lebron has basically apologized since

And I said I was unaware of him apologizing. To which you responded with this:

BuckFan38;2274834; said:

Sorry, but saying to some reporter that he wished he could've done things better is far from saying to anyone that he's sorry. So, strike one.

Then you said this:

Lebron realizes how much the trade made him look like an ass..

Again, when asked for evidence supporting your claim, you could only come up with this:

I'm pretty sure him getting booed at every single game all of last year sent a pretty good message as to how stupid his 'decision' was.

Of course that sends a message that his decision was stupid, but it certainly doesn't provide any support that LBJ realizes he made an ass out of himself. Indeed, lack of self-awareness has been a hallmark of his career and is one of the reasons he participated in the ridiculous Decision in the first place. So, strike two.

In short (and not that I need to explain myself), that's why you got dinged--for making some unsupportable claims and then failing to back them up when asked. Not because I disagreed with your claims in the first place. I'd have a lot more respect for LBJ if your claims were true...but they're not.

Anyway, as you've seen, ding whining (strike three) isn't really that well-received around here. Just a tip.
