Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

hoopshype.com is reporting Maverick Carter, Randy Mims, and possibly LeBron are going to be in New York one last time to meet with Knicks execs to discuss cap flexibility. If that is true, can't be a good sign...

If LeBron is in Akron today though at his camp, I think he's staying. Mysteriously missing today....peace.

Report: ESPN to air LeBron's decision Thursday - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Later, one of James? bodyguards brought in a bag believed to contain the star?s workout gear, and Gibson arrived looking as if he was ready to play some ball. And that?s exactly what he did, teaming with James and Cavaliers Jamario Moon(notes), Jawad Williams(notes) and Christian Eyenga(notes) in some full-court scrimmages against high school players.

I read something like this and I think how could he be leaving?

Yeah, Bosh & Wade to Miami is GREAT news for Lebron staying in Cleveland. The fear of Bosh & LeBron to Chicago is gone, or Bosh & LeBron to the Nets are gone. I never believed the rumors of LeBron to Miami to join Bosh & Wade because they would have to fill the rest of the roster with min salary guys that will get swept out of the playoffs every year.

And really... if LeBron STILL goes to the Knicks... he will never get to the NBA finals again.

I don't buy it. I would be surprised if anyone from Lebron's camp actually traveled to New York. This sounds like something the Knicks released to make it sound like they still have a chance. If you take the spin out of the release it would read "Knicks management trying to call Lebron's people to make last ditch effort to get him to come to NY".
Regardless of who they sign the Knicks are 3+ years away from competing for a title. No amount of fame is going to persuade Lebron to give up 3 years in the prime of his career to rebuild a team in NY. There is a reason no other team was willing to give Amare 5 max years guaranteed.

I never thought he would go to Miami either, but don't kid yourself into thinking the Heat wouldn't win multiple championships. Bosh, Wade and Lebron would be the rich mans version of Allen, Pierce and Garnett. You can put a couple of role players sround that and win titles.

If the details of wade and bosh's contracts get revealed today, we will know one way or another on miami. May not have any money left.

James "tweeted" 20 minutes ago he was headed down to his camp...

Another good thing about Bosh and Wade to Miami is that Miami has no talent besides those 2. They traded away or have to renounce their Bird rights on most of the roster. If they're lucky they will be the 4th best team in the East until they are able to add some extra pieces through the draft. When 70% of the salary cap is taken up by 2 players that doesn't leave much you can do to fill the other 13 spots. Where is the true Center that Bosh wanted?

when i first heard of the announcment airing at 9 PM tomorrow my first thought was that he would be announcing for cleveland...no way he goes on ESPN and then rubs it in clevelands face for an hour straight (not that i think the whole thing will be lebron for a whole hour...i bet its 10 mins of lebron and then the next 50 mins spent on how crazy of a FA month it has been and the bosh, wade and amare stories)...but then i started to read into what windhorst has been saying here and i have to agree with him:

ESPN reports LeBron James will announce free-agency decision Thursday during televised special | cleveland.com

i now dont know what to think...lebron getting twitter, this espn special, next he will have facebook and a reality show on VH1...his behavior in the past 3 days alone is un-lebron-like even for his drama queen standards...so now this 9 PM decesion has me thinking he could very well go to NY...its so irritating that my opinion gets changed literally every 2 hours....i cant fucking wait to have this end tomorrow night at 9 PM...lebron stays, most of us are happy but then thinking, ok now what? lebron leaves, the people of cleveland riot and i will burn all my lebron merchandise DEEP DEEP IN THE Q

I feel that they have decided to market his loyalty.... If you notice his web site has some themes about the community. Procedes of the presser are going to boys and girls club.... the special may high light his home town roots and culminate with this emotional announcement to stay home making this the actual news. Or this is all of the NY presentation on how to make a billion....
a)set up twitter
b)make announcement on espn in prime time
c)make a web site
d)get on face book
e)sell mon a vie and other mlm products from said site

Just remember... it was Chris Paul that persuaded LeBron to go on twitter... Chris calls LeBron his brother from another mother, hmmmm, AND Paul loves Byron Scott... hmmmm AND Paul is the best PG to play with LeBron since Paul can shoot it from the outside.

While I know New Orleans doesn't want to trade Paul now... That could be an option in the future.

Another interesting tweet was Windhorst stating last night that there was an explosion of 3 team sign & trade rumors. I wonder how many involved Cleveland?

I would love to get Chris Paul. I don't see it happening, but it's nice to dream, right?

New Orleans should at least consider moving him. They got pretty good production from Collison while Paul was out last year. If they feel that Collison is good enough they would have a redundancy at PG and could flip one of them for pieces at other positions.

The only negative thing I could see coming out of the whole Bosh to Miami thing is that it's possible that LeBron thinks that because Miami is now such a formidable opponent, he has to go to Chicago (which has a better supporting cast than Cleveland) for a better chance to win an NBA title. Also, for those saying NY Knicks, I've never thought that they (or the Nets or Clippers, for that matter) had a real chance. As I said this morning before the Bosh to Miami news broke, this is a two-horse race between Cleveland and Chicago.

How does Chicago have a better cast? The had a shot at obtaining a better cast - if they were able to add Bosh. Right now they have Noah - who is basically Varejao, but maybe a tick better; They also have Rose - a ball dominating PG whose game may not even be a good fit for James. They have ZERO outside shooters - which is not just essential to open up the lane for James, but to win pretty much anywhere in the NBA these days. They'll have room to add another FA, but with Joe Johnson, Amar'e Stoudemire, Dwayne Wade & Chris Bosh all off the market, who can Chicago add along with James to give them a better roster than Cleveland?
