Modell hired Rodriguez?

Nope. Off-topic, really. Just a cheerful "hello" to your tSUN connection.

(That, and acknowledging that in the blue'n'yeller's current condition, y'all might have been better off if someone had spirited them away to Baltimore in the dead of night.)

Nope, he's locked up for 7 or 8 more years. No escaltor clause. Championships prob net him more than 30 million though in the end.

Yeah, the championships are the key. He has made it no secret what his long term financial goals are. To reach those goals it sure as hell isn't coming from an NBA player's salary. He needs to be able to market himself as a multi-year champion as well as the best of this era to be as successful as he can be from a business standpoint.

Is it me or is Boston looking like the real deal going to help keep him in Cleveland.... The Cavs as a team are a few adjustments from being the real deal.... I think going to any of those new cities sets him back 2 to 3 years. They are looking better than the Magic and they are an emotional leader away from being able to beat a Boston team that is on short time...

I guess it's possible. I'm not sure a nucleus of Mo,Andy, Jamison, Anthony Parker, Hickson, Powe, and West is really going to make LeBron salivate though. I'm not sure if Ferry has any tricks up his sleeve, but it'd be great if he did. Adding another player would be pretty big, IMO.

If he does come back, the West situation will be interesting. It's looking more and more like that rumor is true. I love West on this team, especially off the bench, but I don't know how Lebron and him can be on the same team.

I would think Boston beating the Magic and the Lakers wouldn't hurt. From the first 2 games of the East finals Boston is looking much better than most of us thought they would. I still honestly believe that for as bad of an offensive performance that Lebron had in the Celtics series that the Cavs could have won with a more competent in-game coach.

Agreed. With that lineup, he's only coming back to Cleveland if he really wants to stay in Ohio.

Agreed again. This offseason, IMO, will define Ferry as a GM.

West is a tradeable piece for a team that wants to cut salary. I heard that only 500K of his salary is guaranteed so they could trade him for a player who makes at least 5.3 mil and the team would get out from under 5 mil of salary next season. I tested this trade with Oden and it worked. They could also do a sign and trade with Shaq. As long as Shaq still wants to play there is probably a limited market for him. I could see a scenario (unlikely as it is) where the Blazers would rather have Shaq than Oden. My dream would be for the Cavs to bring in Oden and Conley without giving up Andy or JJ. Anyone else can be had for the right deal.
