Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Lebron, Wade, and Bosh are smart. Wade and Bosh will opt-in and take less pay with new contracts.
Wade and Bosh want to stay in Miami. They will do whatever it takes to Keep Lebron there.
Miami will have more cap space and will sign better players for next year.

IF Miami loses in the fnals again next year....Lebron will leave.

Hopfully the Cavs can build a playoff team this year, and will have a shot at resigning Lebron, next year.
Lebron would be smart to stay in the (weak) Eastern Conf. and I don't think he would make a great pair with Carmelo.
Which would leave Cleveland as the most attractive alternative to Miami (Hopfully)

I went and looked it up. Wade has 2 years and 41 mil left. If he opts out he'll be looking at something in the 5-10 mil range. Smart people don't give up 20-30 mil. This is probably the last year the Cavs will have cap space to add a max deal. After they sign Kyrie It's gone. Not that sticking with what they have and building through the draft would be the worst thing. They just really need the pick this year to turn into a star.

Several mock drafts show Shabazz Napier to the Heat, of that's the case, that would be a very good pickup. A polished PG to run the offense, but can also defer to the big 3. But a true down low, back to the basket C is still needed. Bird an and Haslem backing him up isn't going to cut it in the finals, it'll still win the terribly putrid Eastern conference, but not the finals.

How much money can one person need? With endorsements and such, I would think Wade has to be worth 100 million dollars, if not more. Sure, giving up 20-30 million seems like a lot, but I would think the sacrifice of getting better players in there would be worth it in the end. It's not like he's starving.

I think NFbuck said it best in regards to LeBron wanting to stay in Miami to try and keep the legacy intact. He'll take some hits for leaving Cleveland, but it's no different than Shaq leaving Orlando and going to LA. Only difference is people think Shaq's act is funny, and LeBron's "decision" came off pretty bad. If he heads somewhere else, I don't think you can put a guy in the GOAT discussion that has floated around the league all his career, and that seems to be important to him at this point.

They have to find a quality center somehow. That's the missing piece, IMO

altruism is great when it's not you leaving $30 million+ on the table.
