Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

I know what you mean. Ohio kid Trey DePriest just won a title with my favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. I was super psyched about that.

Also, I was totally stoked for Ohio kid Fred Davis when he won the national title his freshman year at USC.

And also Ohio kid Ben Roethlisberger for his two Super Bowls. That was awesome.

Key point to be made here: None of these athlete's took a shit on the state before heading to their respective destinations.

Oh, and then there's this.

What's next.....one of you two will tell us how filled with joy you were when Desmond Howard won the Heisman?

And you call other people trolls? We all don't share the pain of being a Cleveland pro sports fan. I haven't, nor have I seen anyone saying WAY TO GO HEAT! And it's been a pretty plain "congrats LBJ" yet here you are trying to compare him to guys that went and played FB at rival schools. Big fucking deal he left Cleveland. Consider it time served. Oh and saying he didn't do anything for Cleveland is a total sham.

FRANCHISE VALUE
$222 million: Cleveland Cavaliers' franchise value in February 2003, just prior to James being drafted, ranked 17th in the NBA
$467 million: Cleveland Cavaliers' franchise value in December 2009, during James' last season, ranked 5th in the NBA

Home
11,496: Cleveland Cavaliers' average home attendance in 2002-2003, the season before James was drafted -- 55.9 percent of capacity; ranked 29th in the NBA
20,562: Cleveland Cavaliers' average home attendance in 2009-2010, James' last season -- ranked 2nd in the NBA

Hell he even made money for the Cavs opponents.

Road
16,087: Cleveland Cavaliers' average road attendance in 2002-2003, the season before James was drafted -- ranked 27th in the NBA
19,200: Cleveland Cavaliers' average road attendance in 2009-2010, James' last season -- ranked 2nd in the NBA

Which is why I don't root against Trey DePriest any more than I root against any other Crimson Tahhhde player. They can all die in equally hot fires.

The idea that I should be happy for him or LeBron or anyone else because their mothers popped them out within Ohio state lines is idiotic.

Again, him leaving Cleveland is not why people dislike him. And no one here is going to feel bad about rooting against a pompous asshole no matter how many times you type "butt hurt."

I, personally, would like to see DePriest succeed despite playing on a team that I despise, like Abalama. That being said, I hope Abalama goes winless next season, and DePriest nets 15 sacks.

If he doesn't quit in Game 5 in 2010...

If he doesn't invite every team seeking his services to Cleveland in a sham show of ostensible open-mindedness...

If he doesn't completely avoid the Cleveland organization (and even future HOFer Tom Izzo) because he's too much of a coward to tell them to their face his intentions...

If he doesn't invite the whole of the free world (including the largest viewing taking place in Cleveland, Ohio) to a sham show announcing his intentions to leave the city...

If he doesn't participate in an extravagant party the next day essentially rubbing it in to the city of Cleveland...

If he doesn't throw his former teammates under the bus trying to justify his decision...

If he didn't CLEARLY collude with Bosh and Wade back in 2008, thus making Cleveland his quasi-lameduck franchise for two years without telling anyone...

If ESPN (a network I'm sure most of us hold in extremely low regard) didn't keep shoving his [censored]ing face down our throat acting as his PR rep...

If trolls didn't keep coming around to pretend as if we should all be happy for him because he's from Ohio (someone should tell him that)...

Then I might agree. I'd probably still hate him. But I'd have to admit that it was irrational. So, to that end, I have to thank Lebron for leaving Cleveland in the worst way possible. That way, I can hate him with reasons. Plenty of them. Bottom line: the mother fucker left with no class. He got game. But no fucking class. It's nothing for this state to be proud of.

So don't tell me he served his time like playing for Cleveland and its fans was similar to being in [censored]ing prison. There you go troll. Hope you're well fed now.

Let's see here, Cleveland fans have suffered for every season with either completely shitty teams or teams that are good enough to win but never close since 1964.

Florida has 3 football titles, 2 basketball titles and I think a baseball title in there somewhere since 1990.

So yes, as I asked earlier and you have since answered, you really ARE that dense.

Fuck LeBron - not for being an insanely talented basketball player who couldn't get it done, but for bitching out, quitting on his team (admittedly in a league I couldn't care less about) and then leaving his hometown team in the lurch because he didn't have the mental strength or balls to want to be the man in crunch time. He is the example of everything that is wrong with the NBA and sports at large today.

you know......fuck Lebron and all of that shit. I genuinely despise him now that he's proven what he really is. but this nonsense has nothing to do with it and you guys need to stop saying it. you have such an open and shut case as to why you're allowed to hate Lebron and get away with it without just being jealous of his talents.....he's easily hateable. just stop using shitty Cleveland sports as a crutch.
