Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

then i guess 9 assists counts for nothing and that lebron had a positive +/- compared to wade who had a negative +/- tells the whole story of the game. that right their proves how stats are overrated. the fact that wade had negative +/- would indicate he played poorly and hurt his team, but no one who watched the game would say that.

Tells the whole story of the game?! You are killing me right now.

You basically just proved why +/- is irrelevant, not stats in general. Nice try though!

the same problem you have with the +/- is the same problem with just focusing on points. it doesn't tell the whole story. why don't you just watch the game next time and try to understand that there is actually a mental aspect to the game.

I've watched Games 1 and 3. AKA both Heat wins. LeBron has struggled in the 4th of each of those games. The fact that you can't accept that makes me laugh. After this post, I'm done arguing because you keep running in the same fucking circles for what? To prove LeBitch is the most awesomest basketball player EVAR!!!!111!!1!!! I don't fucking care.

i never said that. i simply said he played a good game even though he didn't score. there is more to the game then just that. that is all i tried to say. but even a minor complement of him sets people off like you who look for anything they can find to criticize.

They (Heat) won. Congrats. They (Heat) played well for the most part. Congrats. LeBron played well at times. Congrats. LeBron DIDN'T play well in the 4th quarter, however. Better? :hatepc:

wade differed to lebron in the chicago and boston series a couple of times. wade "differed" to bosh on that last shot last night. its called passing the ball to a guy who is open or has a mismatch. that's good basketball.

He did NOT differ to Wade...goddammit he samed the fucker!!1111!!!1!! :pissed:

“First of all, he’s playing both ends of the floor,” Nowitzki said Monday. “They keep sticking him on (Jason Terry(notes)) in the fourth quarters, and he’s been doing a good job. Jet hasn’t really been a crunch-time, clutch player for us the way we need him to. So he’s done a good job. Look, Wade has been great in the fourth quarter, so LeBron is being more of a facilitator. It worked so far.”

I'll take Dirk's opinion over anybody else's here....

Not to mention, I hear a great interview with Hubie Brown on the Brian Kenny show tonight. To paraphrase: "Dallas is doing a great job double teaming Lebron at the the 3 point line, thus forcing him to look for the open man. Hence the 9 assists in game 3. If he were to split the double team and attack the basket, everyone would be crying about how selfish he has been."

again, I think Hubie Brown has more knowledge of the subject than any of us put together. Bron has one number in mind, and that's the #1. As in first championship.

My thoughts on Lebron have always been succint.

Is he the best player in the game today? Yes. Is he the greatest player in the game today? No.

That being said I never had a doubt once I knew they were playing the Mavericks in the Finals that they'd win the championship. Not to count Dallas out, but they lack the one thing that gives Miami's athletic defense fits: size in the paint.

You see, if he actually has the #1 in mind, he wouldn't have joined up with two other superstars. Unless he wins multiple championships as the guy, he will never be what he could and should have been - one of the best of all time. He'll be a HOFer, he'll be praised as a great player. But he'll be praised as the great player who didn't do what he could have done. He's defining himself as Pippen. Which isn't a bad thing at all, it's just not what a player of his caliber should strive for.

Woody Hayes said some pretty relevant things. Like these:

"Any time you give a man something he doesn’t earn, you cheapen him."

"There are too many people who can easily identify with defeat."

"Anything easy ain't worth a damn."

If his stated goal is to win multiple championships... i guess he wont really care he'll be 1 behind Wade & Haslem no matter how many they win. Its pretty clear he has no interest in being the best, he wants to win championships.. and doesn't care how. Oh well, "coulda woulda shoulda"
