Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

was that an attempt to talk down to a Columbus pro sports team by a Cleveland fan? Really? The Jackets made the playoffs two years ago.... when was the last time the Brownies made the playoffs? Think Seneca Wallace will take you there?

And I would rather be a CBJ fan than a fan of ANY Cleveland sports
Fail. The Cavs were in the playoffs 5 consecutive years. The Indians made the postseason twice in the last five. Obviously, Cleveland doesn't have a great postseason history, but saying the Jackets made the postseason two years ago while ignoring everything else is a comical attempt at flaming. And Browns smack, Really? That's like picking on a retard for being unable to tie his/her shoes. Come correct.

wow your really want to go down this road...the browns since 1999 have been to the playoffs once and in one game, lost...the jackets have made the playoffs since 2000 once, and got swept...and the fact that you are even going to try and argue with me about clevelands extremely long professional history just proves how big of a idiot you are

So much history that they let their team move and wina superbowl in another city...

Cleveland has a history.... of never winning

The Jackets are still buiolding their history.
Again, i would much rather be a CBJ fan than a Cleveland (insert team) fan...

back on topic, I just think people need to relax about the whole Lebron thing. He moved teams, like SO MANY other players in the NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL do each year. Should he have gone on ESPN to do it, no, but its done, oh well, #### happens.

Common sense dipshit. Columbus is an over-sized cow-town - they are losing TONS of money with that arena and leaving Columbus was talked about last year already.

Besides the fact it's an NHL team - they can't sell tickets and we are used to winners in Columbus. I believe that's a big reason why there won't be an NFL team here - we already have our "pro team" and they're called the Buckeyes.

Wrong.

The reason, as MANY MANY others have already posted, it's not that he left - it's how he left.

If you don't wan't to read about it, don't click on the thread.

How dare he be honest. Shame on him for saying he didn't like Cleveland.

They were friends before joining with the Heat. Romo and Ocho were not, as far as I know, friends with T.O. It's not the same. I believe it is about championships, I'm not that naive. I also believe that they genuinely like each other. That's why they chose to do it as well.

Point is, had he stayed in Cleveland, he could've taken a [censored] on the steps of City Hall and flipped the bird to everyone in the town, and they wouldn't have talked about him like they are, and it's because he left. Get the [censored] over it already.

It's not about the championships, IMO. If it were about the championships, he'd want them to mean something. Winning a title with Bosh and Wade doesn't validate anything. They're supposed to win. 1 championship in Cleveland is worth more than 7 in Miami with that roster. In terms of his legacy, he can't win in Miami. He either fails by not winning any, or gets lambasted when he does b/c he took a piggy-back ride in the pinnacle of his career and doing the exact opposite of what Kobe, Michael, Larry, and Magic did.

His legacy is shot in that regard unless some crazy move happens in the future and he becomes the leader on a team without super-stars. For the time being he's Robin, D-Wade is Batman, and Bosh is the Butler. Sure, it will be exciting to watch for the casual fan, but no credit will be given for winning. 3 of the 5 players on the court are future Hall-of-Famers and 2 are legit MVP candidates. It's a joke. If they lose, they should be ridiculously embarrassed.

But they won't be, b/c it isn't about championships, IMO. AAU titles don't really mean much on the AAU circuit. It's about stardom, swagger, and image. Frienships, marketability, and fun. That's what's so disappointing about it all....Jordan, Magic, Malone, Barkely, Stockton, etc....they competed for titles. The NBA has turned into smoke and mirrors this off-season.

When the next super-team is built with CP3, Melo, and Amare the league is thinned out even more. In the mean-time, the Hornets and Nuggets are held hostage and trying to figure out the best way to save their franchises from some of the best players in the world they have under contract.

If you're a small market team, is it even worth drafting the next super-star? You might be better off taking a college approach where you draft the solid core player who isn't pushed by Nike and handlers to jump for the major market. If you take the super-star, they're likely gone when the contract expires and your team is in rebuild mode.

LA and Boston are tradition-rich, elite franchises. Detroit, like you said, just outworked everybody. Hell, the Cavs had some of that the past two seasons, but their star layed a couple of eggs. It's not hard to draw FA's to LA or Boston. Cleveland needs an edge. They had it in Urkel, Urkel wouldn't help. If he was really about securing his legacy (and winning a title in Cleveland, of all places, would have done that), he would have recruited another star to the Cavs. He didn't, he took the easy way out and joined his aau buddies. It isn't as black-and-white as "they didn't try"...they tried, they just didn't get help from the one player who could give it.

Outworked my ass...Detroit beat up everybody.

Everyone keeps pointing to Bird, Magic, Jordan, and now Barkley? Sir Charles is my favorite player ever, but he signed with the Rockets with Hakeem and Pippen.

Just because the Celtics and Lakers have an easier time of courting free agents doesn't mean they didn't have three future hof'ers on their title rosters. This shit has been going on since free agency. Cavs fans were happy enough for Lebron to sign those three year contracts.

Jordan was the greatest of all time, yet he still had Rodman added to his last few title teams.

The Lakers had Kobe and Shaq near his prime, and even Gasol, who is probably better than every other player on the Cavs. Even the spurs had two of the greatest centers ever on a team.

So damn near everyone else that's won a title in the last thirty years had multiple hof'ers on their title winning teams, and Lebron is wrong for wanting what they all had?

What length were Lebrons contracts? Was it a four year and a three year? I mean, if that's the window you have, then that's what you need to work within.
