Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Ya know, this thread wouldn't be so bad if the turnover rate of repeating the same conversation was more than a couple of pages.

For everybody making posts like this, and posting pictures of broken records. It's very simple for those of you who don't want to see more complaining about LeBron in this thread.

If you don't like ongoing anti-Lebron sentiments, just stay the hell out of this thread, or at least quit bitching about what people are saying in this thread. You're not going to change anybody's mind, and the same stuff is just being repeated, over and over, redundantly and repetitively, again and again, ad infinitum.

Cavs fans (I'm not one) are venting. Some of you are walking the line on trolling against Cavs fans. Some have already crossed it and received an infraction for it.

My apologies if this was already posted in this thread. I didn't see it.

Inside look at LeBron's free-agent coup - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
Well, with the real LeBron on full public display now, the gloves are coming off. It's painfully obvious now that he's been surrounded by an army of people/agencies just covering up for his spoiled ass. I'm glad all his dirty laundry in now being aired. I'll admit, I was fooled. Fooled into believing he was more than just a basketball player. That he really cared about bringing a title to NE Ohio. Well, it's clear he was more than just a basketball player...he's also a fucking asshole. I'm all for erasing the last seven years from my Cavs memory bank. Piss on that turd.

That article also further drives home what a fucking mess the nba is. I've been saying for months now that it's an unwatchable product now with all the fouling and posturing and bitching and moaning on the court, but the lunacy behind the scenes is what has finally driven me away. I followed the nba/cavs throughout the 80's all the way until now, including the Ricky Davis, Shawn Kemp and Bobby Sura days. I cannot anymore, it disgusts me.

This thread has an odd vibe to it........ im amazed at my fellow buckeyes who resent that Cavs fans are [censored]ed and it has spilled into other threads... this thread has Dan Gilberts curse all over it.

Sadly inevitable in any divorce or long-term relationship break-up: we've all seen it. Not everybody takes the same side or interprets the events in the same way, and their friends end up being divied up. Hardly anyone ever neutrally stays friends with both parties.

It's unfortunate, and indeed, "odd" that there is so much rancor over this between otherwise congenial people. Personally, I blame LeBron as the carrier of the toxicity. (But, I'll probably get an argument about that from someone.)

Soon enough, there'll be another scandal or arrest (selfishly hoping it's in the Miami area) and we'll all move on.

Meanwhile, it provides a distraction to fill the void until the dawn of the next beautiful, promise-filled Autumn.

:oh:-Le-Who-Cares?-:io:

That article is a very interesting read. I will say one thing, if the article is true, the LBJ gang has done a remarkable job keeping all of these issues hush-hush. This is the first I have heard of LBJ's immaturity and people just in general not liking him, as it appears is/was the case in Beijing and so on. The only thing I saw was that he virtually never picked a teammate up that was on the floor after a fall (which Andy was virtually always on the floor), I chalk that up to a idiosyncrasy of mine and being a teammate and am still willing to dismiss it. But this article confirms it somewhat.

I recall hearing some whispers about his attitude leading up to Beijing, and there's always been some stuff said about his entourage, but nothing big was ever made of it. I gotta think the nba kept a lot of the stuff hush-hush as he was one of, if not THE, most marketable star in their brand. Now, with such a public outcry and such widespread vilification, they're no longer protecting him. Obviously that's just my (admittedly biased) opinion, but it fits.

My apologies. I was merely commenting on the lack of new "beef". I'm kind of enjoying the back-and-forth going on here, at least when there's something worth mentioning.

So, in other words. I agree with what you said.

In retrospect, it would make sense that a guy like LeBron, who was crowned before he ever faced any adversity, would have a difficult time maturing among all the enablers. If anything, people should've looked deeper into the Kobe comparisons and realized that it's gonna be a while before this phenom out of high school is going to be man enough to make the "big boy" decisions without coming off like a spoiled academy kid.

an unmistakable message had been delivered to James through Nike

Here's a big reason why the NBA is a mess. The only way to control the behavior of the athlete is through his shoe company? The NBA is all about the individual. The "stars" are the league, they know it, and they run the show. They should just make the league a 1 on 1 set up, each individual representing his "brand". The sad part of this, is that the next generation is watching this BS, seeing the dollars being made by a few, and expecting to be the next "guy." So, you have high school kids trying to get to the right AAU coach, sponsored by whatever shoe company, who can hook them up with the right college coach (for a year), and then to the right agent who can swing the right contract. Meanwhile, television is advertising Kobe and the Lakers versus Lebron and the Cavs (well, not anymore), and it feeds this me mentality. I admit I watch the playoffs, but I can't remember when I've watched an entire regular season NBA game. I'm probably off track in this thread, don't mean to be so cynical, but "The Decision" just goes to show what the NBA has turned into.
