I have given out more negative rep in this thread than the rest of Buckeye Planet combined.

Um, what? You're really reaching now, my God...Tlangs;1733516; said:No, he would only have been a traitor if he was drafted by another team then didn't sign with Cleveland when he became a free agent.
[strike]I've refrained thus far[/strike], but it's getting tougher and tougher. Some people are just here to be argumentative.exhawg;1733523; said:I have given out more negative rep in this thread than the rest of Buckeye Planet combined.

I said before the way he went about it was sh1tty. I've never defended his special or "The Decision." That was stupid and he came across like a self absorbed idiot. The only thing I defend is it's HIS right to do whatever he wants and to go play wherever he wants.
At the end of the day these guys are all still millionaires and I highly doubt they care what people on a message board think.
In regards to loyalty, I believe Dwight Schrute says it best: "Would I ever leave this company? Look, I'm all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I'm being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly, I'm going wherever they value loyalty the most"

James is drafted by Miami. Seven years later he is deciding where to play as a free agent. It is narrowed Down to New York, Celveland, and staying at Miami. During the 8 days of free agency James comes to visit the Cleveland Cavs management after coming off back to back MVP seasons. Cleveland pulls out all the stops during this "recruiting visit". All reports come out that Cleveland is in the final 3 and that he is a Cleveland lean. Cleveland fans start salivating over the possibility that the best player in the game is coming to their town. Sports talk lines are blowing about all about The King is coming home! Can you beleive it! The King is coming home!!
Next thing you know....he stays with Miami.
You don't think a large portion of Cavs fans would think he is a traitor? Using the same logic that has been used earlier about Ohio pride and what he owes his hometown city. Is it that farfetched?

kn1f3party;1733541; said:I don't agree that it would go like that at all. Sure, Cavs fans would be disappointed he chose not to come to Cleveland but in all likelihood would recognize he has played 7 years for another team so his "loyalty" would probably be there. We would feel like the Bulls fans do now, since his favorite team is the Bulls--disappointed.
