Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

My take:

a lot of people are complaining that "it's not that he left, it's how he left". To me that doesn't hold water. No matter how he left, battery throwing Cleveland fans would burn his jersey. He was in a no win situation. If he tweets his decision to sign with Miami he is a pussy for not going in front of the camera to explain his decision. If he does a traditional press conference, it would have been covered live by about 50 television outlets and the result would have been exactly the same....Lebron dumping Cleveland on national television. At least with the ESPN deal he set up he raised some money for charity.

To all the Cavs fans bitching that he couldn't win the big game and refused to take the big shot.......didn't he make the right decision to go to a team with a proven closer?

Good luck in Miami Lebron...your former owner's meltdown proves you made the right decision to get outta dodge.

I don't care that it was televised...What I do care about is the fact that he told the team earlier in the day that he was coming back.

If he was leaving he should of gave more notice. He knew where he was going for awhile.

How about when Wade and Bosh did it. Why did he need his own spectacle. If I am Wade or Bosh as a superstar I feel that he tried to one up me.

Going to a team with a proven closer is taking the easy way out. It is saying that he doesn't want to be the best.

Do you take the CEO of the number 5 company, or go be a VP to the CEo at the number 1 company, because you will fail to get your number 5 company to the top? loser's attitude.

Anyone that isn't a Cav fan will have a tough time swallowing Gilbert's words, but there is no other way to react to rally the fans and the team after losing quite possibly the greatest player of all time in a bitter free agency.

He is not now, nor--with this decision--will he ever be considered the GOAT. He'll go down as a guy who couldn't get it done on his own and ran off to join Dwayne Wade and his Traveling All-Stars in order to win.

Just a prediction, but ten years after he retires, I don't foresee LBJ even being in the GOAT debate with the likes of Jordan, Russel or Kobe.

And when he shows up on the Buckeye sideline, rooting for the Bucks, are you still going to call him "Bitchmade?"

Chewy assumes LeBron will be all about the U soon enough. Imagine how much faster he's going to be playing in Florida? Chewy would still snap him.

wasn't that on like Wednesay...what is another day.

It was a spectacle no matter how he did it.
[sarcasm]I'm sure Wade and Bosh are just [censored]ed that James is coming to town and that he tried to "one up them". [/sarcasm]

He cares about winning a ring...not being the best. And to be the best you have to win a ring anyway. He left for what he felt was a better shot at a ring.

It's all about championships. Are KG and Ray Allen loser's for leaving their teams to join up in Boston?

Now that I am awake with a nice headache and at work... I had time to reflect (and read all the posts since I went to bed last night)

First off... I wish I can say that I am more pissed about the WAY he left Cleveland versus him leaving. But I can't, I would have been pissed any which way he left.

Now, I AM MORE pissed in the way he left. If he didn't force me to watch a freaking hour long LeBronfest with no real hard questions. I AM MORE pissed that he didn't really give a heartfelt response to the Cleveland fans that supported him for 7 years on his way out of the door.

While I would have been pissed if it was a simple press conference in Miami declaring he was leaving, it wouldn't have left such a bitter taste in my mouth in how this was all done.

BUT HE CALLED THE TV SHOW HE WAS LEAVING "THE DECISION", THANKS LEBRON! You gave us another "The" to our long line of torment as a sports city. You could have not done that. A simple press conference would have left me less bitter.

But fuck LeBron... and don't you dare try to take that hate away from me. It helps me as a Cleveland sports fan in the way I HATE Art Modell, John Elway, Ernest Byner, Jose Mesa, Boston & NY sports in general. So just accept it and move on.

Speaking of moving on... mix feelings about Dan Gilbert. The scary part... he NEEDS to do this. It will help adore him to Cleveland fans. He is acting like any of us, so let him spit his fire. Burn the mother fucking bridge down. Yes he may come out looking like a fool, but at least he is going down fighting. Cuz I don't blame him one bit, he overpaid for this franchise, spent money hand over fist to keep LeBron happy and now he just lost anywhere from $100-$200 million dollars.

The only thing about this is... he is on the path to being Daniel Snyder. Throwing money upon money trying to win, what he needs to do is LEARN from this. He has to realize patience is the key. What the Cavs really needs to do is tear this team down to rebuild it the right way. Look at Oklahoma City Dan... 2-3 years with Top 5 picks is the way to go. Build young and THEN sprinkle in a few vets.

I really wish we were able to do that with LeBron... the management before Lebron got here screwed us out of 1st rounders the first few years in getting LeBron young talent to go around. They screwed up that first year with cap space and signed the wrong guys. Then 2007 happened... we made the finals, LeBron signed a 3 year deal and the clock started, we were close enough to win but we were flawed and capped out. So it became a self fullfilling prophecy. WE HAD TO WIN IT! Out the window was any building with young players, in came overpriced vets that should have won. Our coaching was flawed but LeBron overcame alot of that to get us too close, we couldn't change coaches...

But that is life as a Cleveland fan. Being great, but never great enough. The Browns of the 80s, Indians of the 90s, the Cavs of the 00s.

Thank god I have the BUCKEYES!!! The college football season cannot get here fast enough.

I'll save the picture....but the NBA.com shop has the jerseys up now. No Bosh or Wade jerseys on the front page. Role player, huh?

Yes. His role is to move units and not score 30 points a night.

[censored]in' Wilber and Orville... those two [censored]s -- Dayton educates them, buys their bikes and [censored], surrounds them with love and then they take their airplane and fly it in North Carolina. Bitchmade bitches. I'm gonna take my Wright flyer model and burn the [censored]er right now...

The Wright Brothers weren't bitchmade. They flew their own damn plane instead of waiting for somebody else to invent it and buying a couple tickets to ride.

KG and Ray Allen were traded. Wade/Bosh/LeBron was collusion.

They were sign and trades which is the same thing. KG wouldn't sign with Minnesota unless they aggreed to trade him to Boston. Same with Allen. Bosh may still be a sign and trade with Toronto.
