Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

the best NBA player (maybe of all time to)

i stopped reading after that. best player? he ain't the best player in the NBA RIGHT NOW, and he can NEVER even be in the discussion of G.O.A.T. considering how he mailed it in against the Celtics, then just went to go play Robin to D-Wade's Batman. you think Jordan would have ever mailed it in? Kobe? D-Wade? Bird? Magic? please.

LeBrick ain't Jordan 2.0, he's Pippen 2.0.

I absolutely LOVE this thread over the last few pages. It's a damn good thing it's here on BP, because the majority here are of the same mindset throughout all of this. If this thread was in some Utopian universal sports board, people outside of Ohio (read: the majority of the World) would have half of these posts dissected and destroyed as low-level trolling. Thank God for this boy's club.

Keepin' it classy, BP. That's why I love ye.

His home is Ohio. One day after all this bitterness has ended most of us will realize it wasn't personal.

Look at the teams involved in the lebron Sweepstakes... Chicago goes and gets Boozer, NY gets Amare, and Miami gets Bosh. If Cleveland was able to get anyone as well then maybe he does stay here, but when you can see one team starting to gain momentum and you want to win then you do what Lebron did. Stay on the Cavs and continue with the team you got or get on team with Bosh and Wade. It's not a tough decision. It's not like the guy went on TV and took loads more money and then turned around and said "FUCK YOU OHIO"... The guy took probably 20-40 million less all for a shot to win it all. Lebron has been saying the right things but to me that tells me he never thought the talent surrounding him was capable.

You hear stories about Lebron asking Amare to come to Cleveland and wanting Bosh to come to Cleveland. He was trying to stay and trying to get someone else to come in but no one would so he went to where the other talent was. Again, can't fault him.

Oh well though I can't stand watching NBA for the most part anyways... more a college bball fan and more of a Hockey fan.

the suns wouldn't take the deal for amare and bosh knew lebron was going to miami, so why would he agree to be traded to cleveland? the bottom line is lebron refused to commit long term to the cavs, then cried to the media about getting help around him. when other free agents refused to sign with cleveland, they were left to pick up who they could to appease this jackass, instead of building the team the right way. the end result was trading bad contracts for other longer bad contracts of better players. it still resulted in the best record in the nba 2 years running, which doesn't happen without talent, period.

Agreed

If Cleveland had a point guard instead of a clown who insisted on being a "point forward", they win it all. When one guy demands to be the do all, end all, don't be surprised if the other people end up standing around. Could we rename this thread, Duane Wade's Bitch" which is what LBJ decided upon.

He's on pace to be the all time leading scorer by age 36.... and I did say "maybe" do I think he is? Who know's he's still young but there's certainly merit to it.

I also agree I love these conversations even though I think i'm the only one to feel that Lebron did what he had to do and no hard feelings.

best stats do not = best player

Vinny Testaverde threw more TD passes than Joe Montana

according to your logic Testaverde > Montana

If everything was as simple as the world you appear to live in, life would be a breeze. Nobody was coming to Cleveland because they could get no assurances he who shan't be named would be there. The suns weren't trading STAT last year. Bosh wanted to play in Miami. He who shan't be named held that franchise hostage for two plus years and they did EVERYTHING in their power to appease him. Then he goes out and stabs his home in it's back on national television. Fuck him, he's a fucking fraud. If it was simply him chosing to leave, that's one thing. It's the spectacle he made of the whole thing and his apparent total lack of courtesy to his former team that makes him a complete assbag. He's ruined to a very large portion of the country outside South Florida.

nailed it!!!!! He just admitted he doesn't have Jordan's stones and he cannot be the main man. At least he'll have Bosh and Wade who will be willing to man up and sink game winning shots. Im neither a Lebron hater nor fan, but this is a disappointing move, I would have rather him go to a big market where he'd be willing to step up and be the man.

Bullshit. The fuck it wasn't personal. He knew just how badly people of Cleveland, NE Ohio, and Ohio as whole wanted him to stay true, but instead he decided to take the easy way by going to bought-and-paid-for team. He could've stayed with the Cavs, who finally got a competent head coach and have a general manager who actually gives a fuck, and actually earned a title for the city that needs one most and became an all-time God. He gets paid multi-millions of dollars to play a fucking game, so he should quit with the "I gave so much to this city and this organization" shit, and put those who gave him that luxury ahead of himself.

eventually you might shut up long enough to listen to us when we tell you that Cleveland didn't get those free agents BECAUSE OF LEBRON'S ACTIONS. IT WAS HIS FAULT, NOT THE FRONT OFFICE'S.

#'s?
Wade 3
Bosh 4
Miller 5
Bitchmade 6

???

Was this all in the cards the whole time? Since the Olympics? Look good in the regular season to keep image up, not win in playoffs for easy "winning" excuse to leave town?

Again, the dirt that gets dug up should bring a smile to my face.

Karl Malone has more career points than Michael Fucking Jordan. by your logic (the term is an oxymoron in your case) Malone was a better player than Jordan.
i think we can all agree with the stupidity inherent in that assumption.

Is it really LBJ's fault that nobody wanted to play in Cleveland? I mean it is fucking Cleveland, not much worse then Detroit.

I still have not seen any link to all the free agents saying over the years that they would not go to the Cav's because LBJ wont commit long term. Just because you all wanna say that's why, back it up with something then just talk.

LBJ gave the Cav's 7 years and now he wants to move on, good for him. Yes the guy is an ass for going on tv and tearing the hearts out of Cav's fans but outside of Ohio, most LBJ fans could give a shit less about that and will root for him in Miami.

2nd link on google when I type 'Trevor Ariza Cleveland Cavaliers'

Source: LeBron James tells recruit he'll stay with Cleveland Cavaliers - ESPN

Ariza, who had accepted a five-year, $33.5 million offer from the Rockets last Thursday, also received telephone calls from James and Shaquille O'Neal. When James told Ariza he'd be a Cavalier past next season, Ariza was less than convinced.
"He thought it was just a recruiting tool," the source said. "LeBron definitely said it, but until he signs the contract it doesn't mean much."
The Cavaliers did not ask James or O'Neal to call Ariza, but as he did with Ron Artest, James took it upon himself to reach out. James' future in Cleveland has been an issue with potential signees.
Artest, whom the Cavaliers had interest in before he agreed to terms with the Lakers, was concerned about signing a multiyear deal with Cleveland because of James' ability to leave in 2010. And even O'Neal, who was traded to the Cavs less than two weeks ago, tried to find out about James' long-term plans with the club during trade talks.

This was all covered extensively last summer and in previous potential deals throughout Bitchmade's stay.

Malone also played in 404 more games then MJ.

What does this have to do with anything? Nothing.
