LB Storm Klein (Official Thread)

What's so hard to understand about a d-bag lawyer trying to appeal to public opinion to cast Meyer in such a way that he's a jerk for not letting the poor kid continue on his scholarship?

(This isn't to say that Meyer should or shouldn't, but, maybe Klein's attorney should keep his yap shut)

Yeah, but isn't that what lawyers do?

Would he transfer? Would other teams be interested?

Im sure Ohio, Akron, Miami (OH), Toledo, or Cincy would love to have this kid. If he went D2 or FCS he would play every Saturday starting this fall.

Glad to hopefully have this kid back on the Buckeye field. He has been known for his headiness and football smarts. Hopefully he can keep his nose clean here on out.

The entire arrest, charges, and plea were bogus and the system screwed Klein over because he is a male and didn't have the luxury of waiting for the trial because of the season starting.

This is probably, and most likely, a totally accurate statement.

The "victim" has recanted all statements and accusations. Each of us can now post our opinions re: her motivation - if we choose to do so.

The "System" (Franklin County and tOSU) has CYA'd themselves with the Probation and the Suspension.

Now the onus is upon Storm to prove himself all over again.

I'm certain that all of us Imperfect Beings can understand this and wish him our very best.

Tony Gerdeman (O-Zone) tweeted that Meyer spoke to both families before making the decision.

If that d-bag would stop tweeting burn notice spoilers before folks could get caught up, I'd be a lot happier.

Ohio State reinstates LB Storm Klein

"As I had indicated previously, if there are changes in the charges against Storm, I would re-evaluate his status," Meyer said in a school release. "The charges that would have violated our core values have been totally dismissed.

"I have spoken extensively to members of both families and that has prompted me to reassess his situation and allow him back."

I'm not familiar with the legal system, but can the victim lady re-press charges later? Is there a chance she could be out for a quick pay-day, if Klein turns out to be a stud linebacker at Ohio State and gets drafted in the first round in the NFL draft in a couple of years?

Re: The charge stemmed from a July 6 dispute with the mother of his child at Klein's Columbus apartment

I won't say "quick payday", but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a request for (or a request for an increase in) "child support" here. And rightfully, there should be.

Criminal charges are not up to her. She could file a civil complaint, which I assume you are talking about since there is no pay day in criminal court for the victim (that wouldn't really be re-pressing charges though).
