LB Storm Klein (Official Thread)

I don't see the point in speculating about what really did or did not happen. Hopefully justice is being served, whatever it is in this case. Meanwhile, Coach Meyer has determined that Klein is fit to rejoin the team, and for now I trust that he is handling disciplinary matters with thoughtfulness and integrity.

True..... But withh all the support and advocacy groups for women that are out there, the need for a woman to recant out of fear is lower than it has ever been

She lied deliberately

She was in his home despite having requested a restraining order against him

At some point, a man should have rights. Apparently not in your own home.

We'll never know how many frightened, truly abused women there actually are. Partially because there are actual liars and partially because we have assholes doubting their stories and motives every time a domestic or sexual abuse case comes up.

First, I want to put this in context: I trust coach Meyer, I believe he wouldn't have reinstated Storm without following a good process. Furthermore, the fact that Storm is still suspended is a "good" sign that the team is still taking this seriously.

However, I sure wish he wouldn't have been reinstated. It just feels (emphasis on feels, not objective fact or anything) like this is playing with fire. In such a convoluted situation, I struggle risking exposing the team to this situation.

Again, I trust Meyer. I am sure Storm is a good kid. I just "feel" like this is a dangerous situation ethically.

I am glad that Coach Meyer talked to both families before making his decision.

Apart from that; I don't have enough information to form an intelligent opinion. Further, I don't believe that anyone else here has enough information to form an intelligent opinion. Talking in circles based on speculation is pointless.

Closing this thread for awhile. Will re-open soon. If you have legitimate new information, contact a moderator.

Klein playing catch-up: Meyer didn't want any surprises as he did his own investigation into Storm Klein's legal situation after the case was resolved last week.

The Buckeyes coach didn't find any after talking with people in both families involved in the July arrest, and he honored his word by reinstating the senior linebacker after the domestic violence charge was dismissed and the assault charge was lowered to disorderly conduct when Klein pleaded guilty.

But Klein still has work to do if he's going to do more than simply be part of the program again as he begins a minimum two-game suspension this weekend.

"He was released because of a charge of a domestic issue, and everything associated with that charge was dropped," Meyer said. "I told him if that did happen, like anything, I?d reassess the situation. I wasn?t comfortable with just the legal part of it, so I talked to both families and I wanted to make sure there wasn?t something behind Door No. 2 that I wasn?t aware of, and there was not.

"[His role] is to be determined. He missed all of training camp, so he won?t play until he makes up everything. He?s currently making up a bunch of stuff."

Klein suspension ends: The Buckeyes do know that senior linebacker Storm Klein will be available after his two-game suspension for his offseason arrest expired last week.

But like Hall, how much he might play remains unclear.

"He?s back, he?ll play in this game," Meyer said. "I don?t know how much, that?s up to (defensive coordinator) Luke (Fickell), but he?s been cleared and he?s worked hard.

"Handled this with much humility, which I would have imagined he would. I know Storm much better than I have in the past, and he?s handled things the right way."

Ohio State football: Storm Klein readies for bigger role in defense

@JKBuckeyes

COLUMBUS ? After giving up 512 yards to California last Saturday, the Ohio State defense is searching for improvement.

It could come in the form of Storm Klein.

The senior linebacker from Licking Valley returned to the lineup last Saturday after serving a two-game suspension for a charge of disorderly conduct in the offseason. It was lessened from the original charge of domestic violence, which at the time put Klein's playing career at Ohio State in jeopardy.

With the charges and two-game suspension behind him, Klein looks to play a bigger role.

That could come on Saturday against visiting Alabama-Birmingham, Ohio State's final nonconference game before next week's Big Ten opener at Michigan State.

"Is he going to play more? Yeah," said OSU co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell. "We've got to get him back in the mix some more."

Klein is the most experienced linebacker on the roster, having started 38 games in his first three seasons. He recorded 45 tackles and two sacks as a junior, starting 10 games for the 6-7 Buckeyes.

But an offseason situation put his career at Ohio State in question in July. He was charged with hitting the mother of their child during an argument. After being originally charged with domestic violence, Klein was dismissed from the team for what Coach Urban Meyer called a violation of his team's "core values."

When the charges were reduced to disorderly conduct in late August, Meyer allowed Klein to return to the team. Meyer said in a statement, "I have spoken extensively to members of both families, and that has prompted me to re-assess his situation and allow him back."

It cost Klein the first two games of his senior season.

"I was just praying about it, hoping for the best and I continued to train," Klein said. "And here I am today."

Something doesn't add up with this FACT. I need some EVIDENTS.
In 3 years, Ohio State would have played 39 games. So he didn't start only 1 of those games. But the next sentence says that there were 3 games in 2011 that he didn't start.
Anyway, good luck tomorrow, Storm.
