LB Storm Klein (Official Thread)

Something doesn't add up with this FACT. I need some EVIDENTS.
In 3 years, Ohio State would have played 39 games. So he didn't start only 1 of those games. But the next sentence says that there were 3 games in 2011 that he didn't start.
Anyway, good luck tomorrow, Storm.

Wow! I can't believe this guy is still playing in the second half. He is whiffing on tackles and being thrown around on fake punts. Hope he turns it around.

Man, shut up. He played pretty well and made some big plays. The coaches have him in there for a reason and your bitch ass can take that talk elsewhere.

Ohio State counting on Storm Klein to deliver for short-handed linebacker corps

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Six games into the season, it's hard to imagine where the Ohio State defense would be without Storm Klein. In the preseason, it was hard to imagine that Klein would play at all this year.

The senior linebacker was reinstated by coach Urban Meyer after previous charges of domestic violence from the summer were dropped. After a two-game suspension, he returned and gradually pushed sophomore Curtis Grant out of the starting middle linebacker job, yet came off the field when the Buckeyes went to their nickel defense.

?I worked my butt off and things happened for me and I got the spot back,? Klein said Wednesday.

Now with the broken leg suffered by fellow senior linebacker Etienne Sabino, Klein should be on the field for virtually every snap the next three weeks, joining sophomore Ryan Shazier as one of the two linebackers on the field on passing downs.

In those situations, the Buckeyes should also be helped by the return of starting safety C.J. Barnett, who missed the last three games with a high ankle sprain. Meyer said Wednesday that Barnett will play. With Barnett, Christian Bryant and Orhian Johnson, the Buckeyes have three capable veteran safeties, and they'll be able to use all three in the nickel, with Johnson most likely at the star position as the fifth defensive back.

But without Klein? The Buckeyes would be down to Shazier and Grant, a sophomore that they don't seem to trust yet, or the bunch of true freshmen who are already trying to full Sabino's job.

?We have who we have right now,? Klein said. ?Injuries happen in football. You've just got to keep going.?

Ohio State's Klein knows it's his time

It?s ironic how things have turned out for Ohio State middle linebacker Storm Klein.

Just two months ago, the former Licking Valley standout wasn?t sure he would get the chance to play his senior season for the Buckeyes.

He was suspended from the team because of a domestic violence charge in early July. The charges eventually were dropped, and after a two-game suspension, he returned to action in the third game against California.

In an interview Wednesday, Klein said it was a difficult situation to go through, but he never lost faith that he would suit up again for the Buckeyes.

?I?m just glad it?s over and I?m moving on,? Klein said. ?It?s just good to be back out here and in the swing of things again. Not being around my teammates was the biggest thing I missed.

?I kept working out and running, and I did everything that I normally do besides going to practice. I also prayed about it a lot, and I?m just glad it worked out.?

At this point, so are the Buckeyes. With a season-ending injury to Etienne Sabino, Klein, who has earned his starting spot back, will be counted on more.

?I think the defense as a whole, not just me, has to pick it up,? Klein said. ?We had a great player and one of our captains go down, and someone else has to step up.

?Anything I can do to help the team has always been my mind-set, and as long as we are getting wins, that?s all that matters.?

With a season-ending injury to Etienne Sabino

Damn...thought he was only missing 4 weeks. I'd really love to see Storm step up big for the D and have a great finish to his Sr season. Solid contributions against both the run and pass. Although it certainly wouldn't hurt, he doesn't have to be playing at an All American level he just needs to be consistently showing up and making plays.

Broken Leg is hard to diagnose recovery times.

The need for an upgrade at MLB was made harshly apparent during yesterday's game. Storm got smoked on the opening pass play (clearly designed to expose his lack of speed) and then he was late getting over to the bubble screen on the third TD. Hate to single him out, but he's clearly not getting the job done.

Guy is doing the best he can. Another thought........linebackers must play the run and pass. Aggressive defense by nature, puts the linebackers out of position to read and/or drop. He is what we got.....so we play what we got.
